why implement TWACS, when you can implement high speed internet over powerlines and have your meters report back over tcp/ip. Of course security is going to be an issue, but that is/will be the case for every node on the network.
Sure you say that now, but time will show that the electrical shortage is caused by the massive power needs of the government's AI which is performing research into quantum teleportation so that they can teleport the moon lander to its correct location before someone else ACTUALLY lands on the moon!
