    just like music, this only holds true for works which would normally sell below a certain threshold.

    the market rules for an unknown indie rock band are not the same as for metallica - the indie rock band will earn sales by exposure, metallica will lose them through pirating.

    same mechanism, different results.

    You'll save $$$$$ on your taxes. Get an accountant, save all your receipts, and you can write off just about everything you spend money on. Car, part of your rent, books, some meals, etc, etc.

    If someone else is paying for it, there's really no downside. If you don't want to take a job as a rep of your company, you don't have to.

    VM != scheduler. You'd have to also be loading something that uses all your RAM to stress the VM, unless you're doing make -j on all of those.

    seeing what the press coverage ended up doing to Jackson's ruling (his interviews with the press painted him as being biased, which had a part to play in the appealate decision to remand the case..) maybe it's a good think CK won't be under the same scrutiny.

    Will buy you a heck of a switch. Any 4 port switch you buy for that much should meet all of your requirements.

    I have a bunch of old-school mechanical switchs - 1 4-way AT and 1 4-way ps/2, and they both work great @ 1600x1200 under leenucks.
    I picked em up for $15 at a computer show. Try the cheap ones first, then move up if they don't work. :)
