    Try going back to www.myspace.com/joeuser/WWIIexpert.html or some other homemade sites that cannot be challenged. Some 24 year old kid controversy is not that big a deal. Wikipedia is here to stay.

    The only psychological part is whether you can deal with jobs nobody wants. There are some jobs that stay at monsterboard for months because they are nasty, and nobody wants to deal with it. Everybody fights for the same easy positions, as a result salary goes down. That is the only economics.

    This country needs to send as many people into trade schools as possible. Have you tried hiring a plumber? Or a utility person for repair? Or an electrician? These guys are getting $40 an hour and more than half of them cannot deliver. Rarely do you have a choice, since most of them take on 10 projects as once, and you are just "another customer". Kids can be guaranteed a future in this desperate industry.

    If you need info fast, Wikipedia will get you 95% of the way with good accuracy. What you do with the info is up to you. It is far better than "private" websites or even newspapers that cannot be disputed.

    You are 100% correct! Ask yourself how much changed after a white domestic terrorist like "Timothy McVeigh" was found connected to the oklahoma city bombing? Nothing. Not one white person ever got threatened or searched on an airplane. And I am white to be saying this.

    I feel so guilty to be living in the US just based on that alone. It never was about terrorism. It was about fucking oil. That is why so much of the 9/11 conspiracy makes sense. Bush could give 2 shits about your national security. He wants money. Oil money!

    #2. Your kid stays there till your term is over.

    #3. You cannot own any companies or be a shareholder of any.

    I miss the days of redhat 9 when there was 1 super good version. Good enough for corporate and home with a single distro. Ubuntu might be good for home, but there is no support for bigname devices.

    Does anyone know what infrastructure/routing mechanisms are used to link across the ocean? For US eastcoast to US westcoast is dark fibre underground. But wtf links us to europe, china and other places across the ocean?

    That's an easy one. We are the most overprotected group of citizens ever. Our system has taught us we were superior from day 1 and we believe we can take on EVERYBODY. Most Americans have extremely screwed up views of the world, and seriously need to travel outside the country. And I don't mean some beach vacation spot.

    The bandwidth should be subsidized by the US government. I see no better way to spend my tax money than on wikipedia. This is democracy in 0s and 1s, time for the government to put the $$$ where their mouth.

    A PC with linux can be built to far higher specification than a mac locked-in by proprietary Apple. It's crazy to think a USB cable is better if purchased from Apple because they charge you more. Let's not confuse hardware with software quality.

    Wikipedia treats the users pretty anonymous. So whether you get points or not I don't see any real gain. The vandalism sucks but the image licensing is the real problem. You can never upload an image to satisfy their licensing scheme. They change the fair use licensing every year and they send some bot over to undo everything you ever did. It's annoying. Practically anything that is not a screen shot gets challenged. Last thing I need is another admin to challenge my edits.

    The secret to perfect skin is to never wash your clothes or anything your skin touches with detergent/chemical. Simple as that. I threw all my old clothes out. Bought new ones that have been rinsed with just water and baking soda. Today I have supermodel-like skin.

    If you can believe it, someone from a 3rd world country pitched this recommendation to me. I thought it was insane at first. But it works like a charm provided you haven't already done too much damage.

    Whatever they tell you, the $2 million are going straight to the politicians pockets. They overreacted to a fucking cartoon character and bribed the company for money.

    I am sorry but no politician from the state of MA is going to be a presidential candidate for the next decade. That $2 million is going to backfire on you in every debate from now on. Asking for compensation was the stupidest thing they could have done.

    Sun has one of the most unmanageable patching system among all of unix. IBM's aix should be the #1 corporate choice. Their device support are top notch, they already have a hand in the linux cookie jar, their numbered patching system is superior. Redhat advanced server is priced at $2500 per system last I checked. So don't think it is quite free.

    It's the other way around. The jobs that require queues and stacks are getting outsourced more than your average web dev jobs. That stuff is considered complicated, and a company would rather throw money at 100 people than 1 person.

    Actually Exchange is NOT a must have anymore. I have heard a number of IT folks who are even considering getting gmail accounts and ditching mail servers altogether for their companies. Small to medium sized companies of course. Most IT firms haven't even figured out how to provide 1 gig of storage space for their corporate users. Just the concept of email viruses is scary enough. When I first heard of using gmail accounts for corporate use, I thought it wouldn't be right sending an email to an address that doesn't say @company.com. But all you need is a super forwarder.

    I have lived in Boston for a period and honestly believe that the authorities in the state have never been capable of handling any real situations. They are only good for speeding tickets, parking violations and overcharging on unnecessary tolls (cough.. masspike). Watching drunk college kids and all the usual citizen harassments.

    I am still quite undecided on this matter, because it shows how easily anyone can shut Boston down. This is what you get in a city that doesn't know how to fix potholes and one way streets. The infrastructure is so bad, a cardboard box can clog up the city.

    I used to have some platinum cable package with all the channels. The past few years I have been cutting down channels, now I am down to regular basic cable. And even that, I am thinking about canceling. I find myself infront of the TV only because of my nice couch and maybe discovery/history channel.

    WTF is wrong with TV stations nowadays, is like every show is written by the same person with the same thought process. I am like living on Youtube literally.
