I don't know that much about how the EU works, but IIRC it isn't exactly as directly democratic as the member nations.
Which would mean no expensive campaigns, which would make it much more difficult to bribe.
Personally, I doubt this law would ever pass, I'm so used to the ever-increasing authoritarianism in our government that liberalization just seems impossible to me.
I'm not asking for a handout. I'm asking the U.S. government to represent the interests of U.S. citizens and to put some tariffs and legislation in place to make outsourcing less attractive and to preserve the standard of living for all Americans.
No, you are asking for a hand out. Your asking that the majority of americans be forced to pay more for certan things (such as IT work, and things that depend on IT work) So that you can lead a comfortable life. You're asking everyone else to suffer so you don't have to. If that's not a handout, then the word has no meaning. What your asking for is no diffrent then welfare for IT people. It's retarded.
You do not deserve a comfortable life just because you know how to a use a computer and live in the US.
Actualy, unlike what we know so far about this disaster, people did know that something might go wrong with the Challenger. One of the main reasons it was pushed for that day was because Regan wanted to have people up in space while he gave the state of the union address.
Does anyone else think the Gutenberg project is being incredibly hypocritical with their redistribution rules and stuff? I mean, the whole idea is to create a public domain archive, yet they want to restrict people from redistribution unless they do it 'their' way. It especially irritates me when they require you stick their 3 page license on documents that are half a page long!
I would say, redistribute the stuff. I doubt they would have any legal ground to sue you.
I'm not receiving any money from my parents, despite your idiotic assumptions. Not that it matters, my financial situation has no baring on your selfishness.
In any event, let me give you an example. Suppose Bank A charges a $1 ATM fee, while bank B charges a ten cent ATM fee because they outsourced their IT. Now, using bank B saves me money that I can use on other things, and makes my life more comfortable. Why the hell should I spend my money so you can have a comfortable life instead of some Indian guy?
So that Americans, like you and your family, will have decent jobs when you need them.
I assume you buy only American products, right? If you don't, you're a hypocrite. Where was that PC made, huh?
Sorry to disappoint you, but the world doesn't owe you anything for being born in America. That's just the way life is. Asking for a handout in the form of an over-paid job is lame. Demanding one, and getting all indignant when people call you out is just pathetic.
... I care more about them than I do about some loser living off mommy and daddy's money...
Well, duh. We've already established that you care more for them then anyone else. This is what makes you a selfish bastard. And this is precisely why I have zero sympathy for you. All you are is a winy bitch crying because other people are willing to do what he does for less money.
you and your family is all that matters?

Well, good for you. Now explain to me why I should care more about you then about someone in India. Explain to me why people should subsidize you and your family when the same money could go to 3 Indians to write 3 times as much code?
If all you care about is yourself and your family, then all I can say is fuck you, you selfish bastard.
Remember, blue LEDs haddn't even been invented when the virtual boy was released. The best you could get was green and those were expensive. Red was really all they could have used without the unit being insanely expensive. It's to bad, if they'd waited a year or two they could have used a much nicer color. If it had been made today they could have used pure white, or even done color using mixed red, green, and blue LEDs.
I'm sure I would make tons of mistakes if someone asked me to transcribe some spoken Chinese in a movie to make subtitles. As for re-subbing it in English, well I know lots of Chinese films will still have Chinese subtitles for speakers of different dialects.
The problem is probably caused by not being able to spell very well, in combination not having much experience listening to English speakers.
That's why we have massive unemployment in the tech sector while desirable jobs are going to overseas workers in impoverished countries.
Yeah, god forbid any 'impoverished' people ever get a job programming. They should be working in the fields like a good poor person while we all get paid $60k a year for shitty VB code.
So, you'd rather have chronism then capitalism?

Anyway, it's not like american companies only sell things to american people. If it really was a zero-sum game like you seem to think, those companies could sell their stuff to the indians or chinese they hire.
I can't belive people think this stuff is true. The US is huge in manufacturing, and it always will be. What do you think, that all the farmland in the US is just going to lay follow with nothing growing on it?
Just because you don't see something first hand dosn't mean it isn't out there. Christ.
The US most certanly does not let you just walk in and start working. I don't know what India's immigration laws are like, but with so many people leaving I doubt they would have to much of a problem letting people in. (I can't even find any iformation on google, due to the fact that so many people immigrate the other way)
I mean, is there really that much of a diffrence between moving to SF to get a job and moving to bombay? English is a pretty commonly used language overthere, and I'm sure indian companies doing the outsourcing would love to have people who are proficient in it.
With all the bullshit going on in the US it might be nice to move to a place where they have bigger things to worry about then pissing on the constitution. You might make less money, but the cost of living is far, far less.
If an american programmer isn't better (on the dolar) then an indian programmer, then the american programmer dosn't deserve to work. It's that simple. I'm not going to spend my money subsidizing crappy american programmers, chip designers, or accountants.
Someone in india or china has just as much right to a job that you or I do.
A bunch of uppety IT people slacking off for hours while the mail server goes down, and not letting anyone else fix it. Can't be fired of course, no no no.
It depends on if you're trying to stop spam or go on some crusade to punish people who enable spamming. I think it's rediculous to block mail from someone because they use the same ISP as someone who sells spamming software, and I certanly wouldn't want some unacountable 3rd party doing it on my 'behalf', especialy since it dosn't benifit me at all. (and, in fact, actualy harms me since I'm losing legitimate email)
Not sure what you mean about "Asian decent" but I assume you're referring to our bassist. Hell of a guy.
I was just trying to find something commonly known statistic to the number of people who have been in bands. 20% of the people in this country have been in a band at one point or another, while about 2.6% of the people in this country (the USA) are Asian American. Most of us have an intrinsic idea of how many Asian people there are, and when I made the analogy I was trying to say that there are ten times as many former band members... and that being in a band won't make you have a non-anonymous life. After I posted the comment, though I realized that they could be talking about things like marching band, or whatever... oh well.
Anyway, you guys aren't that bad, and I sort of hit back hard because I though you were attacking me first:P. The lyrics are annoying though, I guess I just hate listening to people wine about their broken hearts or whatever it is those people wine about. I can't stand dashboard confessional, for example, ugh.
Oh well, good luck with it and as long as you're having fun with it, whatever. Until the radio starts playing you 24/7 and I can't escape it. Then I reserve the right to hate you and deride you to everyone I know. Along with Linkin' Park, Creed, Avril Lagvine, and all the annoying bands and artist with so much inexplicable popularity:P
