  1. Re:ha! on MP3tunes Offers Music Service Without DRM · · Score: 1

Totally agree, e-music is the best online music service on the web. You just need to be a fan of independent music.
If you love arists such as Pavement, Sonic Youth, Blonde Redhead, Yo La Tengo. Emusic is simply the best place on earth.

  2. Re:They aren't the first. Magnatune people! on Warp Records Reject DRM, Go Bleep · · Score: 1

Of course, they aren't really the first label to sell MP3's but the great thing with Bleep.com is that Warp Records isn't an unknown small independant label like Magnatune. Wrap Records is very famous in the music electronic industry.

If Bleep.com is successful, many medium-sized labels will launch their equivalents of Bleep.com.It will the completly change the online music distribution because for the first time, you'll be able to bypass the big DRM-only music store!

    I forgot a question : is the X-Box ready for .NET ?

  4. ZDNet article on Windows XP Embedded · · Score: 1

  5. Is XBox noisy ? on TechTV Cracks Open The Xbox · · Score: 4, Insightful

I've seen there are two fans in XBox/10Box. So, the question is : Is the XBox/10Box more noisy than my Dell PowerEdge 1400 ?

  6. Indrema on XBox Released · · Score: 1

I think that our approach, as compared to some of the other console manufacturers, is to invite creative independence to come to the platform and really do some magic. To steal from film industry examples, I want 'Run Lola Run' . . . [and] 'The Blair Witch Project.' I want those types of zany things that don't really fit into the mold to find their way into Xbox.
It sounds like the strategy Indrema, the first linux-based console. Indrema is now dead ...

  7. Two years ago ... on Recording Artists File Brief Against RIAA · · Score: 1

... i've seen an interview of the boss of the Ninja Tune Records.
He says that records labels will lose the fight against mp3's. They should have to accept to make money only with concerts, merchandising and so on ... It think it's a very smart point of view

  8. ACE ADAPTIVE Communication Environment on Portable Coding and Cross-Platform Libraries? · · Score: 4, Informative

ACE is an open-source framework that provides many components and patterns for developing high-performance, distributed real-time and embedded systems. ACE provides powerful, yet efficient abstractions for sockets, demultiplexing loops, threads, synchronization primitives.
I've never tested this framework but it seems very good. I know several companies which use it and which are happy with it.

  9. Number of packages on Conectiva Linux 7.0 Review · · Score: 2, Funny

How many applications is bundled with this distribution ?
If there are less than 7000 programs you shouldn't buy it ;-)

  10. OpenBeOS on Be Shareholders Approve Sale to Palm · · Score: 4, Informative

IMHO, Palm will stop the development of BeOS.
There's maybe a chance that one day, the OpenBeOS project succeeds.
OpenBeOS is an opensource project which wants to recreate the BeOS.
I don't believe it's possible. It seems to be a too difficult work but the people behind this project looks serious. So good luck to OpenBEOS!

  11. IDEA on Java IDEs? · · Score: 1

I've used many Java IDE : JBuilder, Netbeans, Together/J, Code guide, CodeWarrior. Few months ago, i've found IDEA. For me, it's simply the best one. It isn't a RAD tool (who really loves RAD tools ?) but it is the most powerful Java editor i've ever seen.
