Telegram has had desktop apps (including Linux) for a while now, including the obligatory web front end which I find invaluable at work. It says Whatsapp isn't popular in Europe? I don't know about the mainland but everyone I know in the UK uses Whatsapp, technical and non-technical alike. Telegram is slowly being pushed onto my friends, but critical mass is a hard thing to break.
Eu4 is an amazing game that ive sunk nearly 800hrs into, HOI4 is coming out soon and I don't know about PI as a publisher but as a dev house they always release DLCs with a free update (that is paid for by the DLC buying people). Its a very good system that sees games like Crusader Kings 2 still getting updates about 2yrs after it came out.
Their Linux support since Steam on Linux became more then a fever induced dream I had once has been excellent. As publishers go theyve been amazing. So yeah, Skylines is on Linux, go grab a copy (if you play games on that platform).
1000hrs and counting for PI games on my steam, not sure if I should hate them or love them.
Ah its good to see the eth (ð) and i (æ) outside of my Icelandic studies. French did a lot of "damage" to languages all over Europe during the late middle ages, one of the reasons I'm enjoying Icelandic with no real outside influence beyond the Danish trying a little bit.
English and Old Norse were spoken along side each other for ages in Britain, especially back when we had Norse kingdoms (like Jórvik) and Danelaw. All in all, its a shame we lost some of those extra characters which as I understand it, started to happen when the printing press came out. The Dutch machines didn't have ð or so instead they'd use th, and thus began the end.
An anecdote I've come across (which might not be true) is the fact the "ye olde sweet shop" should in fact be "e olde" but because the machines didn't have the thorn () char, they just started using y at first before using th.
Ah languages, gotta love them. Oh, if you like languages and use Linux, google for the compose key!
The sodding "no thanks" button would just not work so you had to accept the request, then log back into the BT portal to disable it again. Then it finally went.
What also finally went was my patience with BT, ordered my MAC code and migrating to Andrews and Arnold.
Makes sense though, all parties here saying it wont happen is designed to make it a NO vote, by saying "sure, it could happen" will make a yes much more likely to happen since its one of the biggest issues as you say with the whole thing.
We'd probably say no to it assuming a yes vote just to prove a point, but if Iceland with its 350k people can have their own currency, I'm sure Scotland can too, what could possibly go wrong.
Shame on Alex for putting his fingers in his ears and hoping something happens. Need a better plan then that mate.
I believe Alex has mentioned before that "when" Scotland breaks free, they'll try and use their current position of being British to just seamlessly slot into NATO and the EU. I wonder if theyre allowed to stay Nuclear free zone whilst being in NATO.
More likely, the threat to remove the Nuclear weapons is a way of renting out the bases from the new English Commonwealth (or whatever us English will end up calling ourselves, most tend to coin the nUK moniker) goverment. Its a great distraction amongst the fact they'll not get a monetary union, Spain will veto their EU plans (over their own want-to-breakaway regions doing the same thing in the future).
I for one would be interested to see how an independent Scotland fares I wish them all the best, but more then anything, it will mean England finally gets their own parliament as well, kinda stupid that Scotland has power over England but not vice versa. Devo Max (if they vote No) would just make us even more jealous/angry over the whole situation. Maybe the marriage has run it course since our integration. Shame the Tories will be our government forever whilst we lose all the Labour voters north of Hadrians wall...
The rumour mill suggests that some games like Civ5, Rome 2:TW and XCOM are waiting on the steambox being released so theyre seen as "release" titles. If this pushes back long enough, hopefully the games will come out anyway.
really? turning a discussion about Chinese space efforts into a rant about Obamacare? Guess being that I'm British I dont have to worry about such things. UK space program is barely worth calling a program:)
Nothing seems to get goverments spending money on space like any kind of race. Just a shame China don't just say "Mars would look great in China Red", that would soon get the budgets for NASA and to a smaller extent ESA raised a bit.
Rather co-operation on this, I know there is some. A Chinese moon base? Like America would let that stand!
BIt of a pointless exercise this, I grew up playing Sonic, Gods, Falcon 16 CGA because that's what I had, why push my childhood on my kids? Nostalgia blinds us to the games we play (although some of them are truely classics imho).
When my daughter is ready, she can play games, but like other posters have said, I want her outside getting hurt playing in dirt first. She has her entire life to sit behind an organic stretchable LED display.
Its just the up front cost that can suck for people, considering the long term savings and the how much money that can be saved buying them in bulk, I am suprised a local/regional/state/country government doesn't just force the issue and issue a "Incandescent for LED trade scheme".
Country uses less power, poor people don't suffer (thats where the up front cost can hurt) and no one can complain that I can think off.
I'm in the process of switching my house to LED, but some rooms simply never have their lights on, the payback period is immense, I'll gladly replace broken with LED but they just won't die on me. First world problems eh?
Bottom line is thus (and im a Giff-Gaff customer), is that it's a pay as you go network. From what I understand, these are designed to lock down on adult content (including betting sites I learnt the hard way) because anyone can buy a payg sim card. I had to put my driving licence number into the website to prove I was older then 18 (which is ironic considering in the UK you can have one at 17 but I digress...).
There was no "opt out of Tory porn lockdown" button to click, and giff-gaff will let me watch porn till my hearts content now. I'm not agreeing with the porn filter, that's evil, especially when out of a Tory policy, but this could be looking at the wrong thing.

BT, you lost a customer over this. Idiots.

apologies, misread your comment!
Austria, not Australia.... afaik, UK never owned the former head of the Holy Roman Empire :)
I'm a Linux sysadmin, run Tor at home and vote Green Party. (In UK were considered domestic extremists - http://www.theguardian.com/pol....
I do wonder how that Ice cream van outside stays in business, its not even hot outside!
Wrong;

Now its not confirmed 100%, but its looking good based on its publishers track record.

City of London top brass also in cahoots with Scientology as well from what I understand. Theyre an honest bunch
hate replying to myself, but after proxying through my home server (on BT infinity), torrentz.ch is certainly not blocked. Way to go UK!
I got redirected to torrentz.ch and I can't tell if this is blocked by British ISPs like torrentz.eu was...
So no service problems. Good job internet.

Words can hurt you, won't someone please think of the children!
Must be Windows, maybe just the church of windows ME.
Be honest, youve got some great memories :).
It's probably why I spend half my gaming life in dosbox and wine playing older 90's games.

But all the amoeabas are in politics, they have nothing to worry about. Keep voting them in people!
