    I remember in the days of 8-bit home computing, when the Amstrad CPC, Spectrum and Commode 64 were the kings, there would always be some little company who was *about* to release a harddisk for said machine. Usually no more than 80Mb, and usually costing around 500 quid. Never happened though, no doubt someone's got one out by now though?

    A similar style of art was used by the BBC for I love the 70's/80's/90's which features items talking about the significance of Space Invaders in 1978 and Pac-Man in 1980

    The 'blood' under most of the machines just raises yet more worry for me.

    I had to support legacy GW-BASIC and QBasic applications, plus apps written in VB6, in the GWBASIC style.. talk about nightmare. No documentation, just occasional photocopies on paper that was literally falling apart... plus the guys working there who still used GW-BASIC as their main development tool. Nothing quite beats the shock of telling a bunch of guys stuff like "Oh yeah, you can have more than 255 characters in a string now" and telling them what a TextBox was.

    Okay, maybe I was a little hasty, but if someone gives you a bad review, and this was a bad review, you should just suck it up.. Imagine Microsoft sending out a press release everytime someone at /. gave them a bad review - they'd have to pay Taco to incorporate random-ms.pl

    "You can load DOS, Linux, OS 2, Windows 2000, 95, 98, ME, XP Home and Pro, and of course OS X and Mac OS 9. You can run any combination; RAM is the only limiting factor. While this trick has other uses, the popular purpose is to impress people who have trouble running just one operating system on their PC. And it really is impressive."

    Just found out I can run OS/2 Warp on Virtual PC 5.0 too. b0nus. Would a PowerMac G4 be better, cause I'd want to put some extra IDE drives on it (essentially gut my PC)

    Reports in The Observer reported on 30 September that an ID card will be introduced, which will be mandatory "to use public services, including schools and hospitals, under plans being drawn up by the Home Office" however Home Secretary David Blunkett and Lord Rooker said on 1 October that there are no plans to introduce legislation on ID cards this year or early next year. Surely this is going to create more questions that it raises? Good article about it over at Privacy International too
