    It's a case of "Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you." In addition to her imagined enemies, she had a few (very real) obsessed haters who went to great and morally questionable lengths to "out" her (Maureen O'Gara being the weirdest and most obsessed of the small lot).

    The problem is that we're talking amnesty BEFORE we talk border security, hence the current gold rush of illegal immigrants to get in on the action. I want amnesty completely off the table until we secure the border not just to stem the economic disaster of having all these illegal immigrants we can't take care of, but the humanitarian disaster that it's becoming, as well.

    That's correct, belief in God does not measure biblical literacy. A good many atheists are very well acquainted with the bible, and can offer cogent exegesis of its contents, even if they don't believe a word of it.

    I live in the deep heart of the "bible belt", and while this has been my first experience meeting young-earth creationists, I can still count all I know on one hand. I would not say that all the Big-Bang "doubters" are YEC. There has to be something else.

    It was slightly more accurate in its time. Since then, the English language has drifted quite a bit in the last 400 years. My criticism of KJV readers has always been that they are reading a book written in a language they do not understand.

    We have no interest in the Ukraine. This is true. We do, however, have interest the resurgence of Russia as an international antagonist. If we can stop Ukraine from entering into the Russian fold, we can put a kink in the establishment of the Eurasian Union (tentatively with Ukraine, Georgia, and Azerbaijan), which would otherwise negatively impact our economic clout.

    Fact is, in an almost totally globalized economy, almost everyone has an interest (either direct or indirect) with every event in the world, whether you like or approve of it or not.
