for phorm, I don't have a good solution. However, in regard to the second question by smz420, I have found that TMPGEnc and TMPGEnc DVD Author are great tools.
I have tried most of the different authoring tools mentioned above with limited VCD success and no DVD success (with the exception of Ulead, which I haven't tried yet). However, TMPGEnc DVD Author took my MPEG-1 files in VCD format and let me burn 20 of them (at 22.5 minutes each) to one DVD. Mind you, they weren't great quality to begin with but being able to put 450 minutes of video (Buzz Lightyear episodes for my son) on one disc was great.
I have also used TMPGEnc to put a movie and TV episodes captured in DivX into MPEG-2 format and then burn it to disc with TMPGEnc DVD Author. Worked great!
TMPGEnc DVD Author allows the user to create custom menus, move things around, change back grounds, et cetera. I haven't tried the easter egg stuff yet, but you never know. I've only made one coaster so far and that was my fault for trying to compile while burning.
Both tools have wizards but TMPGEnc allows you to set it up without the wizard once you feel more comfortable. TMPGEnc DVD Author builds the DVD structure on your drive and then you can create an ISO, burn it to disc with the built in tool.
With these tools, I've been able to build and burn DVDs of my captured TV shows (from satellite) at about 9 episodes per disc in great quality. If you go at low quality, 20 episodes per disc.
You can buy them in a bundle or separately from http://www.pegasys-inc.com. And, no, I don't work for them.
I've used several different newsreaders and the best one I've found is NewsDesk, a free download from http://www.wildgrape.net/. It is easy to use and it runs well. It doesn't crash and it doesn't corrupt your system.
I've used it for over a year now. I've tried other readers but they either require a paid for service, or purchased software that doesn't work or work very well.
It is free - give it a try. And, no, I'm not the developer.
not to mention WTF are people putting tv's in cars anyways!!! Sheeeesh.... cell phones are bad enough.
The first time you drive for more than two hours in a car with a cranky two year old, you will see the joy in having the ability to play a movie or other entertainment for that child.
Take a 10 year old and a 8 year old on an extended trip and soon the ability to let them take out their boredom and frustration by playing X-Box (or playstation, gamecube, whatever) manifests itself.
They have their uses... just because you lack the imagination or need doesn't mean that others do.
It isn't just your eyes. I think it was meant for you to look on the beauty of it, not read it, unfortunately.
I tried enlarging the image, but to no avail. However, I'm sure that larger resolution images exist; one of the photos of the person scanning it in has it projected up on the wall in a legible size.
Never Underestimate!!! I don't know much about RF communications with satellites, or how powerfull it has to be or whatnot, but I'm pretty sure if someone was determined enough, they could hack something togather. Or if they work at a radio station in a small town that goes off air at night. *shrugs* who knows.
I previously worked for a local television station with satellite uplink facilities. We were taught how to uplink for news feeds and were relatively unsupervised between 11:00 pm and 4:00 am. These were positional antennae since we used multiple satellites depending on usage.
I don't doubt that with a little bit of knowledge, some free time and available facilities someone could play havoc.
Actually, his character Jen was able to concentrate well enough to use it effectively and, towards the end of the novel, use it to the limit.
Great book, by the way. Definitely one of my recommended books and one I've reread about (counts) six times now.

Maybe if you asked nicely...
email me offline - I may have a solution for you.
I take it you haven't seen Sarah, his girlfriend. Babe-licious!
