what's really needed is the investment into making a game that makes use of all the new geforce 3 hardware. having console games made for the xbox (then probably being very easily ported to windows) will mean a larger amount of investment in pc games in the long run.
ram that retains what's in memory only really comes into it's own when it's either running on a machine that is:
running a stable os that doesn't need flushing
i tend to leave my computer on all the time - it's got enough to do without me using it (downloading stuff for me, curing cancer, cracking codes etc...). the only time i turn it off is when it needs it OR:
being used with a limited power supply
a laptop running on a battery which you'll be booting much more often (saves time) because it's off (to save power).
it'd be nice to save the environment too maybe;)
i know i shouldn't reply to a troll, but...

...i have a couple of important comments to make:
the kde user interface is modifyable.
the new windows xp user interface has a two styles: blubbly mess in blue, brown or silver or (now get this!) the original windows interface. all these themes are just microsoft's attempt to catch up with the aesthetics of macos x and the x window manages and desktops.
kde is an entire desktop, not just an interface.
no forced registration and sending product keys to microsoft. with kde, your privacy is respected.
the gpl's there for a reason - it's a community effort and you can't take from the community and not give back. i don't think resignation's the answer - how about fixing some of the problems instead? if you exit the game, you loose by default - keep playing!
there the ruby language home page and you can download the latest version.
that's treason - "off with his head!" ;)

(also possibly a monopoly on the games market)
Q. people often say 'open source is communism!'. well, if it is, why isn't it allowed in china?
A. because it isn't.
the only people using that opengl dll are the people using software rendering. how many people do you know who use opengl in software rendering mode?
all these answers are either lan parties (acceptable) or sports (count me out). isn't there anything more to life? i'm serious; is there?
surely the iis worms are one of the most useful applications around these days - forces an upgrade on the user; an upgrade to linux!
if only they used the netcraft service to check first before ruining your neat log files...
