As I stood weeping over my mothers grave, there appeared a shadow. We looked but all we could see was the shadow. Was it a ghost? We soon found out it was the Shadow Man 2. AAAAAHHHHH!
Looking at the pictures at the slideshow. I came to the fifth picture. That was a nice ad. O wait, whats this little picture? O THATs the picture. Same with picture 15. You click next and get the real picture and an explanation. I guess its anything for a buck. Just very annoying to have a huge ad when you watching the slideshow of pictures of a crash.
Ihave been to Japan more than once. Each time that I remember Japan has had some "technological" advance. The Last time I was over in Japan was before the release of Nintendo 64. I had a chance to play with the N64. I didn't think it was bad, except it was in Japanese, and I could only read alittle of it.
Japan is a country were technology thrives. Your right, not everyone can offord the latest gizmos in Japan, but can everyone afford the latest gizmo in America? I know I can't. Japan does get the majority of the technology before it comes over into the US.
I don't think that you have every been to Japan. Japan is a country were alot of people own a computer. Even some of the simple stuff people use computerized stuff to buy. You can even buy a bag of rice through a vending machine if you want.
People in Japan are quite rich, richer than you think.
America has always been behind in technology compared to Japan. Since China is now taking off in the technology market, will America lag behind them also?
According to the/. article Warez is slowing down, but the articles say "Although the warez scene took root only in the early 1990's, piracy has expanded rapidly, particularly in the last five years." So, what is it? is Warez cooling down or still heating up? Warez is blocked (at my school at least), so that could be why most students are not downloading warez software anymore. Who knows what they do to the code anyway. Besides other things on their site, warez is never an option for me. I would rather buy my programs, write them myself or use open source. Open Source is the best option anyway.
Every time you play a CD, the machine automatically copies its tracks onto its built-in 20-gigabyte hard drive. It will then try to get album track information off the CD or, alternately, you can use the PC link to get titles off your favorite cddb-like site.
This new Sony machine will rip the CDs that I play. SO if I play one of the anti-ripping CDs in it will it rip it for me? Or will it not play it? The songs that it rips, it will get the albumn track info from a PC link. How soon will it be hacked? I would not be surprised if the PC link will be hacked before the release (if it is released at all).
MP3s are also copyrighted to Brandenburg, who has also created MP4. MP4 have better quality and are better than MP3s. Besides all the tighter restrictions on MP4s, why don't they use "the latest" in audio files?
Personally, I don't like mp3s, I have some, but not alot. I would prefer to rip my CDs to Ogg Vorbis if I rip them at all. The sony machine would look alot more appitizing if other music formats are used.
The 20 gig hard drive would be minimum that is factory installed. An updgrade to a 50 gig or greater would be ideal (Why not a 120 gig?) That way I won't have to worry about space. 20 gis just won't do it!
I would enjoy a 64 bit proc, but my question is how much heat will it produce? A friend of mine just bought a new AMD and the cooling fan melted off the heat sink and then not only the processor burned but also the new board. According to Toms Hardware AMD processors are more prone to burnt logic. See for yourself Will AMD have a better thermal protection? That is my worry, I don't want to fork over money just to have it go up in smoke.
I also find it disturbing that the author gave us no room for comment in his article, nor did i see anything to suggest he had even asked us about these so called "problems".
Ok, so he didn't quote you in his article. Big deal. He saw the program and wrote what he thought. Does he have to say that he asked you personally about a problem? Maybe he asked someone else. Is there a lack of communication in your business?
Passwords should be shadowed even if you are the only user. Anyone can look over a shoulder, or even view the security tapes.
Eject a disk? Are you using a USB floppy drive? Apple now only carries three different type of drives that are built in.
1. CD-RW
2. Combo Drive (CD-RW/DVD)
3. SuperDrive (CD-RW/DVD-R)
4. Zip 250
Apple no longer uses floppies. So what type of disk is it?
Adults have to be smarter then the children. My high school tracked your trails on the Internet and had the authority to stop your access. How they figure that with out signing on first is still beyond me how that would know it was a particular student. I think that was a scare tacit so kids would not go to the porn site.
The university I am currently attending has a filter and a proxy service. Each university provided computer has its own static IP. (My university bought enough IPs for way down the future.) The network admin has to know different phrases that children will try to view porn. The network admin has to set up the network (wireless or not) to block as many improper sites as possible while on the schools network.
Students will still try to view porn sites, especially at home. Students should be forced to sign a legally binding document and also their parent/guarding sign. This document will have to go into extreme detail about different bad things (i.e. porn sites, hate sites) and the consequences of each.
To monitor what students view at home with the schools property, a program should be written to sync the Internet cache with the server. Random checks by a school official or network admin for that school and then the consequences will be invoked on the students for the particular encroachment of the rules.
Yes you will still have students who know how to clear the Internet history and cache. For students like this, software will be used to bring back the data that the student has "deleted." The iBook or whatever other computer is used will have to be confiscated and examined. This may take a few days that is the price that is paid for being suspicious and trying to get around authority.
I don't know if it is worthy having each student have his or her own laptop for school or not. There has to be staff that does nothing but monitor the network usage and checking the cache of each student periodically.
If the network is set up correctly and the steps are followed students will be highly discouraged on going to the "anatomy sites" for education. If students do go to these sites a punishment will follow. The best punishment that I can think of is loss of the computer for the rest of his school career in that particular school district.
Not every child will try to go to the sites, but because of the few, extreme rules are made.
...well-designed software still needs clarifying comments.
Any programmer knows that commenting your code is very helpful. I have written small programs for myself without comments. Now when I go back to them, it is very hairy to know what I was thinking and what it is supposed to do at that time. Comments are also like road signs. They help you understand what the program is are doing, and it is executed. Just ask any hardcore programmer, they will agree. Thanks for the insight.
I create my own dynamic websties. How would I classify a page? Would it be for a certain view of the document or just the document?
On the other hand, AOL would get their two cents for every visitor they have because of their unprofessional pop-up. Not only will they pull money from users, but also from non-users. That would stink!
How about other sites like Ebay? Think how rich they would get just in one day!! Would I also have to pay for view pages with AvantGo? In the age of information, that would put a damper on my education via the web, or put a complete stop to it.
I would pretty much go back to snail-mail if a charge per page was inforced on me. M$ may just try that in the future.

It looks like Shadow Man 2 has gone 6 feet under.

*Cough, Cough*
Don't worry, I just caught a synthetic virus. I'll be well in a few days...
