The NES mini and the SNES mini have caught my attention, but dammit - USB would have been nice. I understand the desire to make them Wii compatible, but they could have made the Wii USB compatible had they wanted to. Nintendo has a history of being jerks about ports, the GBA SP, the GBA Micro, the original DS, DS Lite, DSi, and 3DS all charge on 5V DC, but of the ones I mentioned there's 4 different charger connectors.

Sony to their credit put a barrel plug on the PSP, made the PSP 2000 (I don't have the rest for comment) Mini USB chargeable as well. Sony - notorious for lock-in and incompatibility, is really showing a positive side making these controls USB. Shoot, I'll bet you could even use them on the PS3 and PS4 if you wanted.

The real question: Can I plug a Dual Shock 3 / 4 into the Playstation Mini using a USB cord? That would be great if we find you can load other games onto the thing.

    How short our memories are.

When Obama first took office there was an outcry from both the left and right about the pressure the Obama administration put on news organizations that caused the purge of many journalist. There were articles everywhere about the purges on people getting fired all over the place to keep the administration happy - then silence - then most of the old articles slowly got purged from the archives. The only remnants of that era that are still in the "public memory" are the Fox News spats.

Unlike the previous administration - and the combined corporate efforts of corporations against their political enemies today - Trump hasn't done anything to stop the press. He just makes fun of the organizations he disagrees with mercilessly. Fox and other right-wing / independent media were straight up barred from the White House during much of the previous administration with other pressures outside of that.

To accuse President Trump of being anti-press when all he's doing is having name calling sessions with the ones he doesn't like and pretending he's the first president to have disagreements with the press is disingenuous at the least. This was even brought up on Slashdot in the past.

Regular gas engines do better WITHOUT ethanol - I would say it was actually worse for the environment due to decreased efficiency and decreased life-span of other parts in regular gas engines. Also, gas doesn't keep as long with Ethanol. I have a big gas can for my lawn mower, I use it for a couple of months, then dump what's left in my car and go fill it up again. If it were just plain gas I could just keep it until I emptied it through the lawn mower - could take a couple of years.

I recently rented a flex-fuel vehicle, and I ran it with both E15 and E85. That vehicle probably did produce less pollution running E85, enough to justify the decrease in efficiency, but making us run it in our normal gas engines isn't helping anyone but the corn lobby.

None of it is out of reach, but it's something new each release. I'm getting to where I'm not sure it's worth messing with. I've been using KDE since 1.x, and I'll admit it went through many years of hell between 2.x up to Plasma, but now that it's hit Neon, the KDE interface is incredibly nice. I've been using Free File Sync as a backup/migration tool for quite a while and there's a lot of automating that can be done with it. In fact I mostly used it while sitting at an iMac at my last job and I used it to migrate and backup accounts on both Mac and Windows machines. Believe it or not the file structure was so much the same you could migrate between Mac and Windows using it rather painlessly.

I've also been using Syncthing to keep document directories in sync between my various computers, along with some cron jobs that sync my desktop music/ebook/audiobook/and photo directories up to my server nightly incase I add something on my desktop it's backed up.

It just seems to me like all of the open-source software out there, along with software that can emulate a Time Capsule on the network, that the ODROID-HC2 is just begging to replace Time Capsules from Apple.
