  1. I was using Yahoo! News at the time. on Marking 10 Years Since 9/11/2001 · · Score: 2

The first I heard about this was a news article that simply said "Plane hits World Trade Center."

The first thing that went through my mind was "some dumbass in a Cesna" I didn't know for another hour or two that it serious. An hour or two after that they were evacuating down-town Houston, the buses to the park and ride were so full I took the local Greenspoint Bus instead since it went to Greenspoint mall which wasn't far from my intended stop, even if it did take a lot longer to get there.

Security down town got stupid strong after that. I had to show my ID to simply use the ATM in the tunnel system across the street from the building I worked in. They locked down most of the stairwells in most of the down town buildings, you could only go downstairs, not up, if you could even do that after the attacks. So much for that stay healthy method.

It still saddens me to think back to that day. I don't think W. did the right thing, but for the life of me I don't know what the right thing was. Everyone cheered him on at first and supported the whole open up a can of whoop-ass idea, but when we didn't know where to stop they pointed the finger at him without actually offering a good what solution as to what we should do next. Even Obama is still doing what Bush started, Nobel Peace prize in hand. I think it's time to stop and completely leave the Middle East. We have plenty of oil here we're not allowed to get and we're rapidly developing technology to reduce our need for it. Get the government out of the way and we can cut our demand to quarter of it's current amount in the foreseeable future. I think Ron Paul is right, leave them alone and they'll leave us alone. We made our point, leave with a note saying "do it again and we'll be back" and GTFO out of their affairs. The key to prevention is to get out of everyone else's business and fix our own affairs.

Why did they wait so long instead of filing the day the Wii was introduced? Now it's within a year or so of being superseded by the Wii U. Seems to me if they really wanted to protect their patent they would have done it the day the thing was released, by waiting until near the end of this particular product cycle they're vampiring off of success.

    Still trolling.

I've got my eight year old playing some of the NES/SNES games I used to play when I was closer to her age. Not as easy to do with optical drive consoles.

Yes, they did use the same connector between GBA to SP.

Then they introduced the DS Lite and the Gameboy Micro connectors. They're both different.

At least the DSi, DSiXL and now the 3DS all have the same connector. I can see no reason why they didn't stick with either the Micro or DS-Lite connector since they're all the same voltage. Micro USB actually would be the best choice, but I would be okay with mini.

I don't know about the current differences, but they're all very close to 5V, so close I have a after market Chinese made "Hydra" cables that will charge all of them.

I've been of the opinion since the PlayStation 2/DreamCast/original XBox era game consoles should have standard notebook optical drives in them since it's the most likely part to fail. We could use tool-less removal systems like most 1U servers have to swap them.

Not only would this make salvaging a system after the most likely component failure possible it would make cool hacks easier to pull off. Do you have any idea the pain it is to try to keep an original XBox working with optical disk still in play?

Now to convince Nintendo they don't have to change the shape of their 5v delivery Jack with every portable unit, maybe even adopt a USB plug.

It should appeal to hipsters and college students to no end, make people upset about the disappearing bookstores happy (especially if we keep retail physical media going), make the people who are upset about libraries disappearing happy, and it should be self financing through media sales and overpriced coffee.

Powerful and Continuing Nationalism - yes - a traits of most national leaders.

Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause - Free market capitalist? Freedom in general? He ordered lots of banks to close, part of the history of the town I live in now is devoted to that and he prolonged the depression so money?

Sexism - look at when he was in power. He was more famous for racism anyways.

National Security - this was the excuse for a lot of his socialist programs

Religion and Government intertwined - I don't see this as a requirement myself, however as long as you consider personal moral causes etc.. to be religious, yes

Corporate Power is Protected; Labor Power is Suppressed - He seized corporate and labor power with the NRA (the old NRA) and Blue Eagle programs. He enforced the programs with goon squads. He regulated pricing of everything, those who did not participate in the programs by either under cutting the national price or over pricing, got a visit from a goon squad. What about executive order 6102?

Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts - I don't see how this is actually something to do with fascism other than some arbitrary opinion shared by many fascist. Hitler loved art, he's famous for his Disney character sketches as well as some other stuff. Mussolini stared in films (American films even) and was known to have his own artistic side. I don't know much about FDR and art but I don't consider this "requirement" very relevant. Obviously anyone smart enough to make a few bucks by getting around his anti-profit anti-business Blue Eagle garbage was hated by FDR.

Obsession with Crime and Punishment - YES - blue eagle, Compulsory Code System, court packing, most of the "crime" Roosevelt disliked had to do with opposing him.
