Well I did say to exclude tablets but I guess I should have said MP3 players, too. Otherwise you are comparing Apple and Oranges. Is there even such a thing as a droid standalone mp3 player? What would be the point? Tablets obviously Droid is barely even mentionable.
The reason Linux is still struggling with desktop acceptance is that Windows has improved 10-fold the last few years. Windows 7 is pretty much the most solid Desktop OS I've seen over the last 20 years and far too many OS's to count.
Are you responding to me or the OP? Seems to me like you hit reply to the wrong post. It was the OP who thought that one month was too long for it to take. All your arguments go against him - not me.
The most powerful navy and airforces in the world doesn't help if you aren't really fighting a naval or air battle. Surely the air helps but the fighting is on the ground and they are sorely under-geared for fighting Ghadafi and his sons.
It's hard to fight a rebellion when the current government couldn't care less how many civilians and innocents get killed. Contrast against Egypt where the army was almost independent of both parties.
I can only think that you didn't read the article or anything about what is happening over there. You make it sound like it was politics holding this back. Awarding contracts? Seriously?
Not to get picky but I'd be interested in seeing some statistics. Last I checked, fire extinguishers don't spew water because water can make some fires FAR worse.
Faith and Religion don't have to be tied together. I can have faith that the Yankees will have a good season this year but I hardly would consider that a religious thought. Religion is about control - not faith.
Sure evolution isn't important except for studying diseases that can wipe out our race entirely from the planet. Other than that - not important at all.
The people who push for creationism do not follow the Pope. You might have missed it but there has been some splintering amongst Christianity for the last 500-600 years or so.
I am one of the 8% but I am pretty sure that believing in a god or multiple gods does not in any way prevent you from also believing in evolution. These people are trying to teach a very specific type of interactive god.
I would say Android is doing more than "holding up well" against iOS. Isn't it beating it by a handy margin now - even with iPads? If Motorola was smart they back a winning horse. Android is only going to get stronger over time.
Tunisia - population 10M, size 67K square miles China - population 1.3B, size 3.7M square miles
It's a lot harder to get a revolution started in a country that size - especially with the communications infrastructure so tightly controlled (far more than Tunisia, Libya, and Eqypt were).
Disc should never be your only backup, though. Technology changes and discs wear out. Those files I had saved on 5 1/4 floppies might as well have been deleted at this point.
That's what I am thinking. The quality of the facebook pics are such crap anyway. Who in their right mind thinks that is where their original copies should reside. Keep one copy on your main drive, one backed up to an external, and another on a CD/DVD stored in a fireproof box. And do that with all important files.
Funny. I have a LinkedIn account I almost never use. Unless I plan on looking for a new job I really am not that concerned about some guy I worked with for 2 weeks 5 years ago.
I do have friends all over the world, though, and it is often difficult to keep in touch with them. Facebook makes it infinitely easier. Sure people abuse it and post way more than anybody ever cares to see but it definitely has its worth, too.
You misunderstand me on two points. First I wasn't trying to validate anything about Facebook or this study. I don't believe Facebook has anything to do with self-esteem.
Second - I don't agree with the people who think self-confidence is going to save the world but I will tell you that sad saps who hate themselves aren't going to be making a whole lot of new friends. Nobody wants to hang around with Debbie Downer. And the people who have the lowest self esteem are usually too worried about thinking about if everybody likes them. People should worry more about doing things that make them happy while not harming other people.
If approved T-Mobile will be owned by AT&T, too. It's already in the works.

Bell South is owned by AT&T and I doubt that merger would ever be allowed.
What do you mean laughable? If you go by OS and don't include tablets Droid is already trouncing iOS in marketshare.
That was true year ago but your info is pretty outdated.

What exactly qualifies them as "the most incompetent rebel army in the world"?
I can only think that you didn't read the article or anything about what is happening over there. You make it sound like it was politics holding this back. Awarding contracts? Seriously?
I think you're crazy if you think this will kill facebook. I am not sure how it would even dent it.

You have to fight fire with fire. The people who preach creationism are far more smug and condescending towards non-believers.

Didn't read the article, did you? They are rebelling within the system. The best defense is a good offense.
And like water it can get flavored or poisoned as it goes through. Or it can just get completely frozen.
