  1. Real Old School on Sony Planning Serial Keys For PS3 Games? · · Score: 4, Insightful

"Enter the 5th word from page 35 of the instruction manual." Or maybe like SimCity which had the list of codes that couldn't be photocopied.

I love watching those ghost shows. It's hysterical to see how they overreact to every sound and then interpret random static into "Get out". You know if they didn't actually put the words on the screen they wanted you to hear in the noise that nobody would ever guess it.

Did you watch Planet Earth or Life on Discovery? A lot of the stuff on Nat Geo and the Science Channel is interesting, too. If you are looking more for debunking you can watch Bullshit by Penn & Teller. I guess it depends on what you are looking for. Sometimes you just have to flip around.

I think the fact that the placebo effect can completely override the real effect is pretty surprising. I can understand them netting out perhaps but that they actually were MORE tense than the placebo group is pretty amazing.

History is full of these predictions of demise. in the 50's they thought TV would kill movies. Then they thought that VHS tapes would kill movies AND TV. Now Netflix will kill everything. Funny how people still go to the movies and watch linear TV, though.

Some people actually like linear, story-based questing. It's probably a big reason why console gaming is as big as it is. If you wanted sandbox, open ended gaming why would you ever have played WoW?

I get that with some other groups. For some reason I never replaced my Floyd records with CDs so I don't have them on mp3. They faded a bit from my interest after college much like Zeppelin. Funny how that happens.

That doesn't make it unethical, though. It makes it difficult to enforce but it doesn't change the legitimacy of it. You can't throw the baby out with the bathwater. Do you really want all artist, musicians, authors, etc. to be tied to corporate sponsorship in order to live?

Copyrights are unethical? They may have too long a life and be enforced in unethical ways but I am not sure how allowing somebody exclusive rights to their work for a limited period of time is unethical. Typically people who think that way have never created anything worth worrying about.

Most music nowadays is bite size but most of Floyd's stuff you really had to listen to the entire Album to appreciate it. But it's a new world, I suppose, and if people want to listen to just one song from the Wall randomly mixed in with Britney Spears and Lady Gaga then power to the people.

Me too. Actually most iPhone users I speak to say something along the lines that "I would dump my iPhone if not for iTunes". Of course, then I tell them about DoubleTwist and then they are off to the Verizon store.

As an end user I don't think most people can even see the difference between iPhone and Droid OS. The advantage droid has besides not being tied to AT&T is the variety of devices. I personally like a slide out keyboard and being global ready.
