the very fact that this message is modded down as -1, instead of Offtopic makes me regret registering on this messageboard.

You can mod me down to -9 but you can't hide the truth.

Linux is an open source project that is poorly managed. Why? Because it is Open Sores. Eclipse on the other hand may be open source, but it is managed and developed solely by OTI people. How do I know that? Well, I went on the mailing list and I gave them a suggestion and they told me to fuck off and go to sourceforge.net. Why? Because a great thing like Eclipse cannot be developed by god knows who. OTI people know each other and are familiar with each other's coding style. If the god knows who starts to mess up the code or worse, the architecture, Eclipse will be as good as a 20 year old TV. Why does Eclipse need to be developed this way? Because it is a user friendly application and cannot be as fucked up as Linux(I say so because Linux crashed 5 times in one day and WinXP hasn't crashed even once. Security? get a damn Hardware firewall!). IBM did a very smart decision: They give Eclipse for free, but they sell WSAD for $3000. What do I conclude from my experience: Eclipse is 100% not OpenSores.

Oh and don't forget: Open Source Software is not a fucking religion, it is just an alternative business model.

I'm glad I program in Java, and even more glad that SWT is out so I won't hear any more of "Java is slow" shit.

I like Java because I won't be a part of "Windoze Sux!" or "Unix blowz" people. You know. you have to end this idiotic competition. OS is not, NOT a religion, it is just software. You're going to die when you become old. The OS you used won't give you a place in heaven. Surely I love Java, but I don't go around screaming "Java rox! sucks!". You know what really matters? No, not what OS you use or what language you use. All the time people lived, the most important thing was MONEY. You're good with Linux, the company wil pay you money. Good with windows, you'll get paid too.

So get a good paid job and stop wasting your energy.

Well, it doesn't look like Open Source is the remedy here? A corporation has done the improvements for users, not script kiddies who made XMMS. I belive that there is a 75% chance Nautilus had to be adjusted to work with XMMS, not vice-versa. When there is profit, forget about open source, remeber only the SWEET PROFIT.

That will never be accomplished purely because humans are not perfect. Those of us who are, or think they are, they are too much of a minority. Everybody is to small to interfere with the general movement of the mass. If 60% want communism, there will be communism. If 55% want totalitarism, there will be one. All this happens because the average public is too average to think about the future, because it is realy better to have a fruit now than to have 25 a month from now. One of the lessons of history is that all the other lessons of history are not learned. We "the perfect" ones have to accept it and get on with our lives.
