There's absolutely nothing stopping grocers from giving you this information. Forcing them to do so would imply that there's something harmful about GMO foods, which is what you technophobes really want to do.
I have a half dozen or so XP licenses, and only one 7 license. The latter goes to a partition on a gaming capable system, and the others go to VMs for running things like Office where needed.
Why would I update those XP instances? They serve their purpose. What would justify the multi-hundred dollar purchase of a license that's going be made as redundant as XP in a year or two?
Those have always been available. You've been able to purchase apps from the carrier, or handset maker for a long time. They've always been awful and horrifically overpriced, because only those brands could enter the marketplace.
The moon is no longer really out of reach of private activity. For the moment it still takes noticeable economic activity, but don't count it staying that way.
Sorry, but face the facts. WinCE is a terrible OS, and it always has been. If you have a decent product you don't need to change the name every few years.
If customers just did what they were told Android wouldn't be popular.
They do get valued by the amount of work they took to produced, but it's measured as a proportion of the total network. Earlier coins could be produced in less time because there were fewer people setting up nodes to run the bitcoin infrastructure.
Frankly I'd be happy to drop the phone part of my smartphone. If you want to talk to me, why don't we go have coffee somewhere? If you need to send me a quick message, use SMS or email. That way I'll get it even if I'm driving or pooping or whatever.
There's always a way to get the data out. If you work with people most of them will work with you most of the time. If you set yourself up as an impediment, people will humour you with lies and work around you.
You may occasionally catch one, but most will keep it out of your sight.

If there was something wrong with GM food it would be selected against in nature, and thus not spread.
If there were a reason to believe GM foods were unsafe, you might have a point, but there isn't. It's just blind superstition.
They might as well go with an already established brand.
Freedom of speech and press don't qualify, since they're just specific communications technologies.

It doesn't actually do anything that reading permissions when you install apps won't do better. Except drain your battery.

So... except for the OS? ;)

Don't be surprised when an international audience (like the internet) laughs at you for it.
Then we'll build our own on the internets. Needless to say they won't pay any royalties.

Most people businesses will only accept one currency. That doesn't really impact the others.
The Euro is having trouble because of concerns about it's issuers. Bitcoin doesn't have any.
Bitcoin isn't a national currency. National laws don't apply.
It has value because we pretend it does.
So stop pretending about the US $, then.
That's a good argument for not baking in these silly UI replacements in the first place, not for keeping them.
I don't see a problem with Google demanding handset makers demand less.
If they must write craplets at least make them easy for users to remove.
I suppose I'd do whatever I'd do to contact those people who only have fax machines.

I was referring to the link to the Toronto Sun "newspaper".
You can even have another Toronto paper if you like.
If those attempts actually make the data less secure then yes, of course we should.
If you make your security arrangements hostile to the users, you'll make the users hostile to the security arrangements and they'll undermine them.
