  1. no gas pedal? on Review Of GM's HyWire Hydrogen Concept Car · · Score: 3, Insightful

what ever happened to "if it aint broke, dont fix it?" I dont see why we were having such a problem using our feet so as to need us to use our hands for brakes/gas.

  2. Re:Walmart "computers" on Slashback: Newton, Wal-Mart, Eats · · Score: 1, Troll

How much processing power does the average wal-mart shopping idiot actually NEED??? I mean, how much processor is required to write letters play solitare and log onto AOHell??? If they are buying a PC at a discount retailer, they probably arent a tech head or OC'er.

  3. Wind powered federal building??? on First Wind Powered Federal Building · · Score: 1

Seems if they could put collectors IN the building, they would have enough energy from the politicians' hot air to power the rest of the city!

I received one too for my register.com registered domain... I knew something was up when my 3 year renewal came only 5 months after I registered it!!! Damn Verisign.I am gonna transfer my other 5 domains OUT because of that crap.

  5. you cant recycle win2k on Rolling Your Own Business Desktops? · · Score: 1

"...Acceptable P4 systems from the big guys run at least $1000. By recycling the OS (Win2k), case, cdrom, floppy, and K/V/M..."

Nice try, but there is a little known clause in the EULA for M$ OS' that prohibit the re-use. I ran into that before, luckilly not the hard way.

Thats one reason they now put the non-removeable stickers on the cases, so you cant take the license cert with you when ya go.

  6. Re:Not all ISPs offer them on Are Public NNTP Servers a Thing of the Past? · · Score: 1

actually commiecast.net...er, I mean comcast.net HAS put a cap on thier NNTP servers. a pitiful 1gb/month. And I thought that 3gb/month (or was it a week?) was bad. As I remember, they are "reselling" giganews.com access.

If I could get DSL where I was, I would... but alas I am stuck (at least till my lease is up). Is it considered geeky to weigh the locations of apt communities heavily on distance from a central office?

  7. Re:Novell's Netware on Software Patents on Memory Allocators? · · Score: 1

Dont count on it. Unless you manage to get buddy-buddy with the support engineer, you will probably get the same response everyone else does... "You are running Novell 3.x? and you want support? sorry, I am not even allowed to discuss it since it is no longer a currently supported product. Do you have a question on a current product? NO? sorry, cant help you then... goodbye. *click*" Last I heard, they would actually hang up on you (politely as possible) so that they didnt have to argue over support for an unsupported product.

  8. Anyone see CNN's online video of it? on This is IT? · · Score: 1

I saw CNN's video. Obviously shot with a consumer camcorder, and I swear it was shot by a 7yo with ADHD that mistook his Ritalin for 12 Penguin mints.

GEEZ!!! The video was all over the place, focusing in and out... and somebody PLEASE hide the zoom button from that kid. I was getting dizzy from the fast, extreme (and fuzzy) close ups.
