    Ah yes... I remember those. I had to buy an external Mac drive for the company I was with at the time and couldn't for the life of me think of a reason the "Mac" version cost more money. So I got the "PC" version and when it arrived, it was preformatted for Macintosh. Fun times.

    It will always be cheaper to have a thousand of something made then one, allowing a profit margin for reselling the thousand at a price lower then a person can make the one.

    Go to Safeway or any other supermarket and take a look around. Or do you really think that post cereals promote heart health? Hell, it took a law suite to stop "vitamin" water from claiming health benefits from their sugar water.

    However general legislation against using digital devices can be done right. The issue we start to run into is things like do touch screens built into the dashboard count or windscreen HUDs like what BMW has in the works.

    WhatsApp is already monetized at 1$ a year subscription. It has more users world wide then Twitter in key nations and demographics where Facebook is losing traction or has yet to make an impact. There is a danger of USERS jumping ship, but Facebook has said they will not implement any changes in the platform any time soon. Long term, I can see it being worth the money in the same way YouTube was for Google.

    Just learn them. School will only teach you one specific set of solutions to a problem rather then teaching you to problem solve. If you want to learn another language, just do it. Sit down, think up a simple application and write it.

    Android is based on Linux. The Google apps are not. Despite what some people claim, not everything written for a GPL operating system must be open source.

    You're right, the Apple license to allow me to use iOS and Apple apps on my own phone brand is MUCH more open. At least according to my unicorn lawyer.
