    Face recognition is less secure than good fingerprint scanning, which includes capillary response and other non-visible checks. I'm frankly surprised it took them this long.

    One of the reasons I'm at my current job, my "commute" is about ten feet and pants are optional. Working at home alone does seem to result in a high level of work place sexual harassment however...

  16. It did inform users, there are three pages of app permissions. The Uber app has more or less full control over your phone.

  17. Did no one read the permissions list the app asks for? Its really long... there is no reason for most of it, so why are people now shocked that it was nefarious? It even lists "modify or delete your storage contents" for Jobs sake.

    Really it's not a massive jump from the competition. Which is not to say I'm going to buy one, but I'm also not buying a new Samsung.

    Cause last I checked, for a cell phone to work, it kinda has to tell the carrier where they are. At least in general terms. Otherwise, it can't pass the call off to the next cell in the system.

    Because what you have to do if you want to go from beta to full release. You basically have to wipe and reinstall.

    Thats a nice howdoyado for the people beta testing it for free for you.

    If you never wipe, it starts to itch. However, in this case it's reformatting and restoring from backup rather than wipe and reinstall.
