Bah, still stuck with the old URLConnection in 1.4.2 that dosn't have a timeout. Ah well, got my hopes up there for a moment. On a sinde note, anyone know how to set the timeout of Sunlabs.brazil's HTTPConnect?
I've never realy understood this. Do people realy "use" the oporating system? if so, for what? I for one use applications, once the app is launched I dont realy care whats its sitting on beyond things like standard file open/save dialogs.
Motorola's doing Symbian again? They where part of the Symbian group with Nokia and Sony when I first started writing software for the phone platform. However allmost right away they and Sony pulled out, taking with them a lot of technology from Symbian for their own phone software.
If you've not tried it before, Symbian is a realy kick ass platform for phones. Multi tasking, protected memory, TCP/IP the whole nine yards.
I'm doing web dashboards for 6SIGMA and ISO systems. I'm trying to hammer together OWC, ActiveX, Lotus Domino, Apache, JBoss, mySQL, Flash objects, kettle, jfree reports, and a bunch of other stuff.
If it works in any browser at all I'll call it a sucsess.
The UN is not a group you want dealing with any for of internatinal standards controll for comercial entities. Read they're charter some time (http://www.un.org/aboutun/charter/) to see what it is they DO do. They will NOT ever setup large server farms within the US and other countries to deal with top level domains.
In my experience, you can do it with standards, or you can make it look like the client wants it to look like, which requires at least two sets of scripts for the diferent browsers. Then you run into things like ActiveX maps and OWC objects and give up on it working in anything other then IE. Then you go have a stiff drink.
Even better. If the virtual money is taxed as income, then my expenses in game are tax deductible. Raid repair costs, epic flying mount, sword of a thousand truths, all right offs.
Mean time between failures is not a hard perdiction of when things will break. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MTBF
Hot molecule on molecule action! See uncensored carbon bonding!
All you need to know about IPv6. It wont run on your current network hardware, and you wont get the budget approved to upgrade.
I'm willing to bet that most people with a wireless network card dont even know what the term "sniffer" means, much less be able to run one.

The problem I have with wave power is that it takes energy out of the oceanic eco system. What effects is that going to have ten years down the road?
So where do I send my used jpgs, gifs and mpgs to for recycling?

Without some major changes in our diet, America will never run out of methane.
Now why would you want us to invade the station? Its allready falling apart witout us bombing it.
From the looks of things, it'll put stress real hardware as well.

Without the hardware tie in there's realy no incentive for Apple to keep running iTunes. Its the iPod & iTv sales that make them money.
Step 1) dont tell anyone about it.
Step 2) dont deny it exists.
Thats about it realy.
Robots in Japan often have to pay union wages in the factory where they "work". So why not civil rights?
All those photos where perfectly legal... in the countries in which they were taken.
No. An overwhelming majority of the people dont care.
I went from a pair of 2.8ghz xeons to a pair of Opteron 250HEs and its a world of diference.
More or less. If you say it will cost twice as much and take twice as long to support another 15-20% of the market thats a losing argument.

"some kind of international controlled non-profit organization"
The only organizations I can think of like that are tied to various religious groups. So I sure hope we dont hand controll over to them.
But we DO have those temperatures. Lots of people ignore the data because they dont understand the science behind how we got those numbers.
