So, he scoured eBay [ebay.co.uk] for the appropriate parts (motherboard, chip, RAM, SCSI hard disks) and pieced together all of the new machines from scratch

Why doesn't he just get together with your fellow professor?? Your posts are completely inconsistant of a way of a bad troll.

Physics Genius. I'm surprised you haven't learned your trolling rules from your first troll account...

    Back up your claims.

Its mostly the refresh rates, especially on 'pixels' that change drastically in color. Its been an issue with all OLED panels.
There is also a lot of legal issues.

I've already said too much, and if I get caught, I'll be the one with legal issues.
    Sorry to disappoint your skepticism.

I've had the honor of helping out on this prototype, and I can assure you that it still has its share of problems. Yes, most kinks will be out by the time we start mass producing them, but, for now, lets just say you'll have a hard time finding pictures of it except those in this article and the press releases.

  4. This exists in the retail biz, too on Leak Star Wars, Go To Jail · · Score: 1, Interesting

Being a former retail shop owner (video game store that also sold movies), I can tell you stories about how sometimes you get video tapes of movies weeks before they are supposed to be released. If you accidentally put it on the shelf a day before its released. You got a nice hefty fine to pay.

The movie biz is something not to mess with.

  5. Welcome to Capitalism on Microsoft Tries a "Switch" Campaign · · Score: 0, Insightful

Being a Marketing Director, I can tell you that there is nothing surprising (or news worthy) in this story.

Its simple. Competitor explains why there product is better than yours. You can either
    A.) Do nothing
    B.) Fight Back

Its like Ford saying their trucks are better than Chevy, and Chevy saying their trucks are better than Ford.

This strategy has existed for decades and I find it not funny nor worth getting your panties in a bunch about.

I can assure you that VeriSign not only is 'still in it', but they plan on fighting to regain some control over .org.

What I'd like to know is when he'll give gratitude to those of us that helped him early on. I did a lot of pointer tracking for him to track down memory leaks, and ensure that all clustering was efficient memory-wise.
Most of it I did anonymously, but not all of it. Regardless, he takes most of the credit, or, at least, doesn't give credit where it is due.

Not that I mind much. After all, I did do most of it anonymously, but I happen to know of a few friends that didn't and wish they were at least given a tiny bit of credit.

    From a Naval Officer...

I can assure you that there are other funds that allow us a great deal of R&D.
Not only that, but there are several projects similar to this technology that prototypes are developed and tested.

The upcoming police action (seeing as The President has received permission) is not going to divert funds as much as you are saying. Sure, forces will be split, but I assure you that everything will be normal on the R&D front.
