vnc (or other RFB) server support, so I can view my desktop -- the one shown on the monitor -- from another computer.

Have you looked into krfb or x0rfbserver.
krfb did the job for me and I'm quite happy with it.
Who comes up with these names.. how exactly do you pronounce x0rfbserver or gkrellm or krfb for that matter.
I suppose it's better than the Windows naming schemes: "ScreenMonitoringServer Pro Special Fun Edition XP 3000" or something like that..
Hmm.. well.. the point is VNC works in linux.

I was until recently running a 200mhz downclocked to 150mhz computer with a screwdriver stopping the power supply fan from making any noise and no fan at all on the cpu.

It had 1 pci nic and 2 ISA (I was using it as a hub)
It ran fine for months until I finally found a great 12 port 10 mb/s hub in a dumpster. (Yes, I'm poor =)

Thanks for your interest in Google Labs.

The lab is temporarily closed as we deal with an experiment that got slightly out of hand. Nothing to be concerned about, really. All of our engineers are perfectly safe and there was never any real danger of it escaping into the wild.

Please check back in a few hours. Everything should be back to normal then and science will march on once again. We appreciate your patience.

If it's possible to use light to send a neutron through time using small amounts of energy that can actually be quite useful can't it?
We can send 1 or 2 neutrons and communicate to our past selfs using binary.

These horrible "terrorists" that everyone is talking about are poor people trying to defend their country and religion from the American empire which
    already stretches around the world.

My country Iceland was bought between 1947-54(shortly after the US supported us in declaring independance in 1944)
with the Marshall plan which was a program to help european countries after WWII. (I don't know about a single Icelander that died in WWII)
The Imperial Union of American states has been slowly and steadily "Americanizing" the world via financial aids,
supporting dictators, the media and wars fought in the name of some great cause.

Things have been getting rapidly worse since our lord Bush the dumb took over the emperors throne and that 9/11 incident has provided yet another great cause, to protect the great country of America from the evil terrorists by doing the same things that caused the terrorist attacks in the first place.

Withdraw all US troops from the middle east back to the US and terrorism will not be a problem.

oh yeah, and drop the damn debts.
