  1. Current display technologies don't use these "subpixels". CRTs and plasma displays still use them, but those are pretty much obsolete now. Grab a magnifying glass and look closely at the picture on a CRT or plasma screen, and you can see the subpixels. If you use the magnifying glass on an LCD or OLED screen, you don't see the subpixels, because the color of the pixel is not made up of 3 subpixels, but just one.

This new technology might improve resolution compared to existing technologies, but then why bring up the obsolete "subpixel" comparison?

Wow. A computer (designed by humans) beats humans at a game (designed by humans). Should I be impressed? I'm really not. Computers have been beating humans at games for DECADES! It doesn't really say anything about humans being obsolete when an AI trounces a human at tic-tac-toe.

I think AlphaGo's time would be better spent trying to do something that could benefit mankind. Figure out a health-care bill that is equitable for all. Balance the US budget. Anything but moving little rocks around on a grid!

The Janeway CHARACTER wasn't going to be French, but the actress was! They replaced her because she wasn't willing to dedicate herself to the show. The French are used to all sorts of workers rights that we don't have in the US. They have limited work hours, more mandatory time off, etc.
