And when I say "anti-american" articles, yea saying that 24 propaganda is/. worthy, then articles about the Al Jazeera working with Terror Groups should be up on the home page too, or hell start covering some of the things the Arab media says about us, if all that which you comment on are "News for Nerds, Stuff that Matters", then it all is
We expect that sort of behavior from totalitarian regimes. When they do it it isn't news. When we start acting like the Ministry of Disinformation, it's not what you'd expect from a country with such explicit values. So it's newsworthy.
"Great fleas have little fleas upon their backs to bite 'em,
And little fleas have lesser fleas, and so on ad infinitum.
And the great fleas themselves, in turn, have greater fleas to go on,
While these again have greater still, and greater still, and so on."
I'm really trying to avoid using the phrase "suckling the public teat", so let's all (yes, I'm looking at you, LaRoucheian asshat) just agree that no business exists in a vaccum.
I'm a lawyer - although civil rights is not my area of specialization - and it's not that simple. The world of "I own it & I can damn well do as I please" is long gone.
Can you please, please either post that statement on every/. thread or set it as your sig?
From a secular, liberal Arabic point of view Al Jazeera kicks much ass. This is what we are saying we'd like to encourage over there, and I'm totally baffled that people over here dislike it. The alternative is state-run religious content, and I'm sure they'd totally leave the US out of their commentary (he said sarcastically).
Check out their web site sometime, instead of taking FOX's word for everything.
Blizzard has a LONG history of turning a blind eye to assholes and jerks, simply because they're a large portion of their fan base. Every time I reload Diablo 2 I'm reminded of why I remove it; "oh yes, I'm surrounded by scum".
I'm just not sure that there's as much mischief to be made out of this as Blizzard seems to think. What are they going to do, call them fags? Oh noooo.
Before trying to impress others with your "knowledge", try to understand what you are speaking about in the first place.
God, it's totally reached the point where I have no idea if people are joking, being ironic or just aren't thinking clearly. You kids and your relativistic humor drive me nuts.
What if this guy is a pansy who knows just enough to get himself caught, but he was hired by a shady individual to plant a stealthy something and deleted the account as an afterthought?
I think you mean "patsy", but that was good for a chuckle.
I don't like DRM for many reasons, its annoying, it by its existence says that I can't be trusted, but as far as I can tell the concept of DRM doesn't automatically negate, or even compromise security.
You get it, you just don't realize that you get it yet.
I can't really find a good link for you, but the gist of the matter seems to be that it's a loophole in the rules of the Senate (I don't think you can attach riders((the term used for these attachments)) in the House w/out a special vote?) that both sides are able to use to their advantage.
Why does nobody automatically cry foul? I'm not sure if you're familiar with our political process, but we're fairly complacent about being openly corrupt. Remember that whole "Gore wins the election but Bush becomes president" deal? Shit like that happens all the time here. We don't really care that much.
If you're really interested in the mindset that allows situations like this to occur, I'd highly recommend picking up a copy of The Shockwave Rider by John Brunner. As far as I can tell he got precisely one aspect of the 21st century wrong.
"A Musician who just spins tracks together". That's a musician? Wow. So, they "sample" parts of songs, and mix them all together. Seems like we need to reclassify them as a "mixer" rather than a musician. I think putting these people in with musicians is belittling to musicians. Seriously.
And don't get me started on that hair. You call that a haircut? Back in my day we'd have kicked his scrawny ass across town just for laughs. And those clothes, don't tell me their mothers let them out of the house like that. Where I came from we'd have something i dont know what were we talking about?
Hell no, for me it's strictly Glenn Miller playing The Way Things Used To Be.

For a value of "ever" that does not include infection w/ an incurable, fatal disease. Right?
Yep, I was totally wrong. Not sure how I came up w/ that. It was late?
Try wiring all of Texas for broadband? Heck, it's larger than Japan & S. Korea combined!
No it isn't. Texas is larger than Japan, but not Japan and S. Korea together.
Of course, this isn't taking into account the fact that everything is bigger in Texas, including the standard mile.
A specific pattern of ones and zeroes IS a physical product!
You should make that your sig.
All data on the internet can be traced, it just depends on how much effort they decide to put into it.
Yeah, and I'm sure that the logs from 0wnedbox.comcast.net will provide many valuable leads for the feds.

a) Al Jazeera.net is not the same as Al Jazeera broadcast.
Aljazeera.net is the online version of the same Aljazeera.
That's a quote from their "About" page.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you "Internet Discourse in a Nutshell".
Yeah, you need to use a soft mallet when installing RAM. A regular hammer is too hard on the chips.

I love how people form opinions based on a static world.
Yeah, they're always doing that.
If we weren't detaining people, tapping their phones, and beating information out of someone, I'd be pissed. I'm paying the government to protect me.
Pussy. Look at you, running scared because the shouty guys on TV told you to. Grow a pair.
