I'm not sure what version of field runners you are using, but mine has a 'resume' button the allows you to resume playing where you left off. It does take forever to load though. Most of my FPS games load faster.
I think this is the first time I've seen an ad hominem attack against a straw man. You make up beliefs the poster supposedly has, then attack those beliefs rather than refuting his original argument.
It was significant in that it was expensive. No one died, or was injured. That accident was caused by bad interface design, not poor construction. Unfortunately design problems like that can't really be prevented by throwing more money at development.
This is a meaningless argument. No matter how thick the pipes are they could have always use thicker pipes. No matter how thick the seals are the could have always used thicker seals. No matter what design they settled on there was probably a more expensive design that was rejected. The fact that nuclear plants in the US have gone this long without major problems is a good indication that they were built well enough. All they have to do is find the leak, patch it, and change their maintenance procedures to find similar leaks in the future.
So you are saying the money they made was legitimate because they are assuming risk. But when a company takes too many risks and then gets bailed out by the government they didn't actually assume all the risk they were getting money for. It seems like they just tricked the government into giving them my hard earned money.
Also the fact that this housing market collapse could even happen seems to indicate that these wall street people don't know anything about the risks they are taking.
According to this article the actual statement made by the lawyer was:
Mason: I challenge anybody to show me, I'll pay them a million dollars if they can do it.
Murphy: If they can do it in the time alloted?
Mason: 28 minutes. Can't happen. Didn't happen.
He wasn't going to pay a million dollars for proof that his client was guilty. He was going to pay a million dollars for proof that someone can go from the the Atlanta airport to the hotel where his client was seen on video in 28 minutes. Which this law student apparently did.
When we harvest electricity from the environment it cools the earth down. Then all we have to do is convert the electricity into radiation (like light or radio waves) and shoot it out into space. Or we could just build a bunch of mirrors.
Yes but coal and nuclear need one generator for each 1000 MW plant, whereas wind needs one generator for each 1 or 2 MW Plant. There are probably other slightly less economic ways to make generators though.
If people know there's a red light camera they're more likely to try to stop when it's too late, causing to slam on their breaks, leading to more rear end collisions.
You could try to contact the person and figure out why they are upset. People don't usually post bad rewiews for no reason at all. Resorting to threats and lawsuits as a first step doesn't make a whole lot of sense considering that most people can be reasoned with (until you threaten them).
Have you ever heard of a newspaper spending months investigating an organization then not finding anything to report? No matter how clean an organization is the newspaper can always find some conduct that seems questionable, at least to people who aren't already familiar with the issue, if they report the facts the right way. If the newspaper has spent a lot of time and money investigating that organization they have a strong incentive to spin news to be sensational.
All that plan requires is a restructuring of the tax code, not an increase in government spending. Also, I'm a little unclear as to why changing what money gets spent on will increase overall employment.
Subsidies are supposed to protect important industries from collapsing if they have a bad year. If the government is paying farmers large subsidies every year they are paying farmers to grow food that nobody wants.
The bottom line is artificial scarcity cannot be technologically enforced.
Yes it can, with a game that only costs $5 most people will pay just because its more convenient than pirating the game. Why spend time cracking a phone and risk getting a virus when it only saves you a few bucks.
Many iPhone applications are free and use advertising as a business model.
When given the option I prefer to pay a dollar or two if it keeps me from having to watch advertisements.
Or maybe the problem is that the media mostly only covered McCain's gaffs and negative campaigning, rather than covering his campaign promises and plans for the future like they did for Obama.
First you post demanding proof that people are denied treatments based on moral judgements. Then when someone provides proof you say that it doesn't count because they are moral judgements that you agree with.
Just because someone 'shot up' at one point in their life doesn't make them a 'drug abuser'.
Let people live wherever they want. What reasonable justification does the US government have for denying foreigners the same opportunities that American citizens have? Protectionism and xenophobia don't count as reasonable justifications.

I like this quote from the wikipedia page on the USS Los Angeles:
Unlike her sister ships Akron, Macon, and Shenandoah, the Los Angeles' career did not meet a disastrous end.

The iPhone can connect to an exchange server, and read excel and word files.
It might have been effective if Kennedy had been wearing it.

1. Take a bunch of money out of the economy.
2. Shuffle it though an inefficient bureaucracy .
3. Put what remains back into the economy.
4. ???
5. Economic recovery.

But in 2008 most people use a computer mainly for web browsing and email, so for most people a computer is useless without an internet connection.
I'm from the US.
"Why should the U.S. be any different?"
Because the US is better?
