  1. Re:infinitely long and yet finite volume? on Is the Universe Shaped Like a Funnel? · · Score: 1

Its basically just a limit.. Consider 1/3, which is 0.333333 repeating The partern can be expressed as f(N)=f(N-1)+f(N-1)/10 whhere f(1)=0.3 and you can take N out as far as you like... the number is still 1/3 or 'at most' 1/3 because of the properties of the pattern, it has an upper bound, and is therefore finite, even though the patern, or representation of it is infinite.

I doubt it will be much different than suse 9.0 with the 2.6.4 kernel and a few updated packages.

Im currently running SUSE 9.0 with the suse 2.6.4 kernel, and Ximian Desktop Unstable (Gnome 2.6 :)) and its a pretty sweet desktop combination, unfortunately SUSE 9.0 doesnt handle wireless that well, and some hotplugging functionality got lost when I upgraded it to 2.6.4.

    Here's looking forward to 9.1

I work at a fixed wireless ISP in a rural area that has been using this for a while to do hookups, we have a backpack with one of our modems, a battery, inverter, and a netgear AP, one guy wears the backpack and takes an antenna to look for signal while another guy with a wireless pda telnets into the modem to read off the signal, this can also be done with one person with the pda mounted on the antenna pole, its proved pretty usefull and makes our hookups alot easier.

Linux is not a viable platform to sell games if the games are only for Linux, but If developers took it into account beforehand and developed in opengl they would have an easy 2 (osx, linux) decenctly sized platforms to sell copies on without a _huge_ ammount of effort. It seems to be working for Epic. In fact epic licenses their engine by platform, Windows/OSX/Linux are considered a single platform for pricing

I admin a small non profit wireless isp, and this is what I generally try to do, although our user base is small enough (~110 right now) that I can do this and call them up to tell them they have a virus. But this wont work for all types of viruses, if you block someones smtp access you might cause more trouble than just shutting them down outright.
