    Companies like IBM and HP should not be allowed to bid on government contracts when they have a large number of their workforce in IT sweatshops overseas.

    I hate to mention politics, but it has allot to do with the current problem.

    I voted for Bush, but he has done nothing for the middle class workers losing jobs to outsourcing sweatshops overseas.

    This is the reason why Bush will not be reelected.

    If you want to do some good, switch to politics instead and run for national office then pass laws restricting outsourcing.

    What if there is bacterial life in the soil and that life excreted chemicals that causes the soil to be able to retain water in molecular form?

    Natural selection would seem to open the possibility that life forms may have evolved that produce chemicals to allow water to be retained on the surface of Mars.

    I write my applications in Java so it can run on Windows, Linux, BSD, Mac OSX, Cell Phones, Solaris, AIX, etc.

    All without recompiling.

    If you want to use a different language that locks your binary into an specific compilation you are more than welcome to do that, but as for me, my application will experience no OS lockin.

    Funny, I experienced that the speed of the GUI is quite acceptable under Java.

    Anyone who has used JBuilder, a Java application, knows that the GUI of JBuilder is quite fast.

    DirectCD has been out in wide use for years so the patent holder should be held responsible for minimizing damages. Failure to do so would invalidate their case.

    If anything, racketeering charges should be filed against the patent holder for ambushing users.

    I don't believe DirectCD works with CD-R. The version I am using requires CD-RW.

    There are laws on the books that a company must takes steps to minimize the damage due to the infraction.

    There may be no patent infingement here. It seems like the patent covers some kind of multi-session CD writing scheme for CD-R but does not mention about physically erasing data on a media like CD-RW.

    The Patent covers CD-R but not CD-RW.

    One implementation is to use a MAC number of Unique ID obtained or stored on the computer.

    Programs recorded that has the copy control flag would used the MAC number or Unique ID to encrypt control information or properties information, or header information of the HDTV data stream.

    This way, the program may be recorded and replayed on the same device, but cannot be redistributed to a different device.

    What if there is only the dimension that we are familar with, but the time scale is different at the quantum level and the continuum level?

    What if at the quantum level, energy can propagate faster than the speed of light thus having the appearance of being in more than one place at one time giving the illusion of multiple dimensions.

It is Amazon that has to worry about Ebay. >eBay isn't covered by claim 4, because eBay >doesn't associate and store a specific product >ID with each listing. Every e-commerce catalog uses specific product ID. There are holes all over your claims. Keep talking. I am sure Ebay is taking note of issues.

    Thre are numerous implementations that are implemented with CXml and EDI that the Amazon patent is trying to misappropriate.

    Because it is not unique and it is not an inventions. There are prior art. Look at the APIs for CXml and for many EDI applications.

    Metod fied in this patent does cover what EBay is doing in their APIs and marketplace.
