You might notice, if you looked at the table, that Aqua and Quartz are TWO DIFFERENT LAYERS. Apple's X11 TAKES ADVANTAGE of QUARTZ, but not Aqua. You, my dimwitted pen-pal, said you wanted OO with Quartz. If that's all you want, just run it in X11 and shut the hell up.
If you're anywhere near Austin, Tx and you want to call me a fuckwit again, I'd prefer you did it in person.
I FIRST asuume you mean you want OpenOffice the app, not the domain name.
SECOND, I assume you want an OpenOffice that works in Aqua(written in native-Cocoa). Apple's new X11 DOES take advantage of Quartz Extreme, so that request has already been fulfilled.
You all but begged a few weeks ago for a free Titanium. Did you get it, or did you actually buy one? If you got it free, shouldn't you give the vendor some love?
I wouldn't recommend it. None of the features mentioned here, aside from form-factor, are anything to write home about. Nokia's 9290 has been doing ALL of that for some time - and THEIR photo-attachment takes decent shots. They also have a color screen and MMC slot for more storage.
You failed, CmdrTaco, to review possibly the MOST important aspect - and the one that holds back the 9290 from conquering the world. HOW DOES THE SYNCHRONIZATION SOFTWARE WORK? Is it good, bad, non-existant? Support for Linux/Mac? Is it SyncML based? Open standards? On that note, is the OS open? Doesn't HAVE to be, but that would be a nice touch.
Like Tom Cruise? Yeah . . . I had him in mind for a character in the book. At one point - I think in the Restaraunt at the End of the Universe, a big-headed movie star in sun-glasses bumps into Zaphod. Read the description of the guy and picture Tom Cruise . . . that's him.
Thing is: most of the cocky stars you're talking about couldn't handle this role well.
That would SUCK!!!
Ali G is an ass . . . who is capable of being funny on occasion, but not playing a role such as this. The guy from Snatch and Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels and that new Woo movie would be way better
BRILLIANT
I have always thought Hurley for Trillian. That seems obvious to me.
How about Hugh Grant for Zaphod? He has to be charming, but annoying, simultaneously. I think Grant MIGHT be able to pull that off. The fellow from "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels" and "Snatch" would be good for Ford Prefect. I, too, am at a loss for Arthur. Perhaps Ewan MacGregor? Too young looking, I think.
Your choices for Slartibartfast are perfect. Absolutely brilliant. There are not too many roles that would be served equally well by those two choices, but this is one. Diferent reasons, but similar results.
I'll take your grey-haired dual 800 off your hands so you can get one of these new ones!!!

What kind of sick asshole are you? I am assuming there isn't even an Easter Egg, as Orbitz would be making a RIDICULOUS mistake to do such a thing. You just think it would be funny for a few hundred people to look up flights for that date this year.
Pathetic
Well, because if I do it my way, I have a legitimate license. A student license would not be a legitimate license for commercial use, and if it ever became an issue I would be screwed. I may be cheap, but I'm not stupid. My way I get what I want without actually breaking any rules. The $50 rebate IS tempting, but I am still offended. I would NEVER have paid for Win 98 SE(except that it came with the PC I bought that year - this was before I had enough faith in myself to roll my own), and I don't like paying for 10.2. If there were enough new features for Apple to feel comfortable calling this 11.0 I wouldn't mind paying, but when they call it 10.2 and I already have 10.1.5 I don't feel it's worth $129.
What's to stop me from purchasing Mac OS X(10.1.3) today, sending in my order form and receipt for the "free" upgrade, and returning Mac OS X(10.1.3) tomorrow?
While I would feel like a cheap-skate, I would feel vindicated at this outrageous racketeering - $129 for an OS update. I thought only Microsoft (Win98 SE) pulled crap like that.
There are VERY FEW McQuirks to speak of when discussing AirPort technologies. AirPort is straight 802.11b protocol stuff, and you can connect easily to Access Points from Ornico, Nokia, Intel, D-Link, LinkSys, etc - all while using WEP. You should really know about Macintosh before you trash-talk them.
If you're using the wireless connection to do anything at all you'll want the Zaurus. Palm web surfing sucks beyond belief. And what better networking abilities can you have than a terminal-in-hand?

Several of you mention upgrading your Palm handhelds. Get your head out into fresh air, people, it's written for the Texas Instruments 206 MHz ARM-compatible processor! IT'S NOT GOING TO RUN ON YOUR PALTRY 33MHz PROCESSORS! For one thing it won't be compatible, and if somehow you bent reality to make it compatible it would run as quickly as Windows XP on a Speak-N-Spell!
Uhh, ACTUALLY you CAN tinker with the OS the same way you can with Linux. The source is not all available, but the Darwin part is. And you can get to shell and do a lot more than you must realize. Mac OSX is a pretty hybrid of Mac OS style and Linux(okay, Unix) function.
Shouldn't this article have the Monty Python foot icon instead?
What's with the AMD logo on this story?

No, Quartz Extreme does NOT equal Aqua. Take a look at the table, dumb-butt: http://www.apple.com/macosx/technologies/
"I want my Quartz OpenOffice.org."

And mod me up: http://www.cpen.com
Well, if you want to qualify T-Mobile stock based on products made by Danger, go right ahead. It's probably as good an indicator as any!
