    It's their show and they have a perfect right to do that. Reminds me of the PGA Senior Tour, which decided to go to the "Champions" format when they realized that folks were tuning in to see Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson, and nobody cared if Dennis McConklin D.D.S., a fitness buff actually improved his game to the point into his early '60s to the point where he could compete against the old tour pros.

    I read an article some time ago that argued Amazon Prime should be free or nominal. I agree. Trying to make money off the membership fee is short-sighted. When I want something online I go immediately to Amazon, because they probably have it and it might be in the Prime program. If they keep raising the Prime fee, I might be at some point tempted to include some other service or services in my initial search, and when that happens Amazon will have lost the mindshare monopoly they own right now in my house and millions of others. The money they stand to lose to other sites is way more than the piddling membership fee.

    And don't rule out older designs, the military used to train pilots in new planes by pitting them against experienced pilots in F4s and other older jets, and routinely the older jets would get kills against the new ones.

    True. In the '80s, in combat games against Vietnam era pilots flying older planes like the Phantom, hot young pilots in brand new planes were getting their asses kicked. This led to the founding of the Top Gun program - the brass realized that sophisticated missiles were not enough. Pilots still needed lots of air combat experience.

    Aereo is essentially a leech on the system. They give nothing back to the content producers.

    Aren't they expanding the number of folks that have access to that content, and hence, the commercials?

    I use Aereo to watch football games while cooking. I see all the TV ads. Otherwise I would listen to it on the radio and hear the radio ads. Is that what the TV network wants?
