    For example, if the kernel verifies the binaries it runs using digital signatures, then it can refuse to run unsigned binaries.

    It's also possible to use SELinux. With this module you can in details give permissions to any object in the system. A web server would not be able for example to run /bin/sh ... it would be blocked by the kernel. It's also possible to tell what syscalls are allowed for a program.

    I tried this !

    In the Mc Donald's at Denfer Rocheraud (on line 38, in Paris) we can receive the wixos.net networks. I tried it with a friend, we took our laptop computers, and came to this Mc Donald's, where we could eat while talking on the irc (and scare every people around who think we are evil hackers ;)

    What about watching divx on a NetBSD machine ?
    I heard there was some problemes with running mplayer on NetBSD but I don't know at all if it's true or not.
    Has anyone tried ?

    And what about playing games like Quake3 or RTCW ?

    I you tell me this is ok, I see no reason to keep running linux on my workstation instead of NetBSD :)
