  1. I agree and disagree on Library Censorware Blocks Own Site · · Score: 1, Interesting

The thing is you cannot count completly on parents to watch your kids, but at the same time you can't block half the internet because of some word or set of words in it. But I do believe there has to be some happy medium between the two, like start off by just banning well known porn sites, ampland, drbizzaro, goat.se, playboy.com (even though it does have good articles.) and pro-Actively remove stuff as it comes along. the thing is a lot of porn comes up that is unwanted, if a kid misspalls, a url, it could easly send him into a pop-up ring of every form of sick and twisted porn you could imagine.

  3. Well it looks ok on paper on Software For Ransom · · Score: 5, Insightful

The problem with this whole situation is this IMHO... first of all, this will cause people to (a) pirate what used to be free source anyways. (b) cause people like me to wait out the time limit so that i will always be two steps behind what is current unless we will fork out ca$h, (not bloody likely) (c) cause the free source community to stop doing it for the reason they started in the first place... Its a hobby, they enjoy it, and they want to make the computing world a better place. I am not trying to be flaimbait, but if i have to pay for *nux, or any software really, I would just stick with microsoft, due to the full featured compatibily and mainstream acceptance. Granted *nux is more robust, and far more efficient. Overall I am more inclined to do things by my pocketbook.

Well here is some thing you may find interesting about verizon. Other than owning the largest ammount of cell towers in the us, AND having a large market share of the home land lines, coming soon to a home near you.... they are trying to fight american rules on privacy when they are owned, not by a German company, but the German govenment. FREAKY!!!

  5. What the crap is this?!? on Bridging the Digital Divide with Linux · · Score: 0, Flamebait

Don't get me wrong, I love linux, as soon as I get my open gl working, I am killing winblows, but thats beside the point. this is just as bad as when people were complaining about the atm fees in California. this is just like saying, I want a car, but I can't afford it, so lets see, government, can you buy me one. I mean honestly, computers are not a civil right. and someone does have to pay for the severs, hardware, telco/broadband lines. In closing I would also like to state if you realllly wanted a computer you would come up with means to do so --See the new G.H.O.S.T system, the ultimate in paitball concealment at:http://www.unitedpaintball.com --
