I used to work for a company called XtraSource, and they do a lot of Tech Support, I was Tech Support for many companys, Targus, V-tech, Phillips Cd-Burners, and so on. The thing is a lot of companys out source, and then you have a rep, that has no stake in the company they are representing at the phone. On top of that all they care about is call time, that is all they are measured by well, that and AUX time (break time). The thing is, not only did you not care too much about your job, but you didn't have great training and you really didn't have any focus becuse every call was for a different company. So really your job was to tell the customer to reboot the machine and call back when it is back up, and I was a level 2 tech. Granted after taking so many calls you learn a few tricks and can help a lot of people. If anyone has a question outside the box there is only so much you can do... when you are looking at your call time and your growth potential within the company. That is my two cents on the issue, from the inside out.
Well I am not sure what is causing your dilema with XP. I work for a windows Zealot, and I have built a number of machines with XP PRO on them and in fact i have also made my whole household make the switch (from 98 & ME to XP pro) and I have yet to see any of the stability issues with it that I have had with 98 & ME, also I have found with my XPeriences that Win2k, although stable is generally slower than any other operating system, and i know that by the way people at work complain about their systems, a simple XP upgrade seems to shut up my co-workers, which that is my job, keeping everyone happy with thier PC.

After they had someone have sex in a church live, there radio life was over, not only did they "jump the shark" they also ticked off a lit of suits, and the religous right. I belive (don't hold me to be correct on this) the FCC or some other governmental agency over radio had them taken off the air.

Well they make units called X10 units (same standard as the cameras in thoes annoiying pop up ads) and what it does is transmit singals whough your electrical house current. The last time I looked at it though (which it has been a while) you were limited to 16 deviced on a channel. to interface with your ccomputer, there is a device that plugs into the wall, and connect also to your serial connection on your PC, (as of 1999) then you have to replace your plugs and switches with X10 plugs and switches, along with, if wanted, motos for curtians, and door locks. when i looks at it 4 years ago, I got the comptuer interface, one "lamp" plug, one "utility" plug, one keychain remote and one "universal" remote. And i also bought a box lot of dimmer switches @ $9.99US.

But I must say this, have you ever heard of the second law of thermo dynamics? it states that all things go from a state of order to a state of chaos. Also, Evolution is a theory, The second LAW of thermo-dynamics is a LAW. laws win out over theorys.
This is mildly off topic, but, what I have always done, is after the basement fills up with crap, i go to inventure place and dump it off on them. For thoes who don't know, Inventure place in the inventors hall of fame, in akron, oh. I am sure there is some sort of thing like it everywere, they use it so kids can play and "invent" worthless crap, kinda like "high-tech" building blocks. The best part is I get a tax write off, for my corporation. (more of a legal thing then a real business)

actually, and this is mildly off topic, I dialed 0 today on my land line, and got the AT&T "operator", it wasn't a live voice, but it was only enough off for me to pick it up. But i just asked a question as if it was a live operator, and it responded just fine, using that as in intermediary it seems at it may cut down the response time in relay calls.
Well aol is slowly dying out to broadband, so AOLTW then renames road runner to AOL BB. Aol stays alive, they charge $10 more a month for service, and now before your computer boots up it asks you if you want to buy a book, or a new toy. but, then again it's all worth it, when you cable modem, didn't kick you off, you can read time. or teen people. YAY!!
the thing is people like me just like the nostalgia of playing LORD, or any of that stuff, and I think they are making a mild comeback, as for me and my house i go to telnet://fame.darktech.org. (shameless plug)
and it is fun just to stroll down memory lane
