I've been using IPv6 since about 2001, but after the BT Exact Tunnel Broker stopped, I was lost as to where I could get access from. I signed up with Sixxs, but they have rather tight (anal, some would say) policies. They'll give you access, etc, but a single bounced/rejected email, and they disable your account. http://www.sixxs.net/faq/account/?faq=bounces.
Then I gave Hurricane Electric's Tunnel Broker a try. What a breath of fresh air. It takes about 2 mins from sign-up to being connected - they give you the relevant commands to run too, if you're not familiar with it. If you've got 2 mins to try it out, give them a go.
And Slashdot - how can you be one of the top tech sites, and not be accessible over Ipv6? And throw in SSL too, while you're joining the 21st century.
This is not to be decrypted by anyone in the RIAA or MPAA.

This FireGPG plugin is nice!
Hang on - wait - how is this "browser plugin" running programs (gpg) on our local machines?
Often all I have to do is make them read me the dialog over the phone, which makes them process the info mentally, and they know which button they need to press then, having actually read and comprehended what was asked.
I have a similar thing. Sometimes, I'll have been banging my head against a problem for x mins/hours, and I'll just not be able to see what's wrong. So I start writing an email to the mailing list for that app/driver/whatever, explaining what's wrong, what I've tried, what I'm doing, and in the course of writing it, I'll suddenly see the answer. (Same occurs with running it past a colleague)
Also, sometimes just walking to get a drink, and working on something totally different means that when you come back to the original problem, it's suddenly obvious what's wrong too.
I want a phone with:
bash, ssh, ping/traceroute/iptables etc, an eth0/ppp0 (for the 3G), wlan0 (for the wifi), and sane amounts of free storage./dev/dsp can be the interface to the mic/earpiece, and/dev/ttyS0 should be hooked up to the GPS.
Also, a simple version of gcc for my desktop that will allow me to compile apps for the phone.
There are so many phones "based on Linux" that don't let you get at the Linuxy goodness underneath. Personally, I don't care what a phone runs if I can't get at the OS easily.
I concur. I cringe big-style when I see a van going past with their email address of joes-plumbing@aol.com, or bills-whatever@hotmail.com. It just screams unprofessional. A.co.uk domain is about £2 per year.
Gmail is a bit better though. And in the UK, you can see who are the early ones, as all UK Gmail signups now are googlemail.com. /me had mine when it was invite only. Still like running my own mail server though. Datacentre + server + Postfix + Courier IMAP + bunch of anti-spam things, and it's all good.
Why does the phrase "Even if you polish a turd, it's still a turd" come into my mind?
Try Ubuntu 8.04 with an ATI/Nvidia/Intel graphics card, and install "ccsm", and play with all the options. I have actually grown to like the "wobbly windows" that act a little like sheets of paper.
The peak of civilian killing was WWII, when entire cities were targeted because that's as accurate as the bombers could get.
I've been surprised to find out that people weren't aware that Hitler fired (not personally, I believe) large rockets right into the middle of London, as well as just dropping tonnes of high explosives randomly over major cities. Everyone used to run into air-raid shelters, or down the Underground stations, meaning that only 43,000 were killed.
Children were sent from the cities to live with random strangers in the countryside, to protect the next generation, I assume.
I actually was worried about this, but from what I can tell (resolving some Australian sites www.gov.au, etc), and checking they didn't fall in the list) they don't get caught under this system. I can't remember why now - I know you're thinking that APNIC do Australia too, which they do, but the "grep ALLOCATED" misses them - they are listed as "LEGACY" in there.
But if you know of any Australian netblocks I've caught, please let me know.
Sorry dude. I block whole netblocks that I/we don't have any business with, and that fill up my logs with annoying connection attempts, and portscans, etc.
I'll show you my method for blocking about 80% of probes, scans, password guessing bots, etc:
# wget -o/dev/null -O - http://www.iana.org/assignments/ipv4-address-space/ | grep whois.apnic.net | grep ALLOCATED | cut -d " " -f 1 | xargs # need to add in.0.0.0 though for asia in 58.0.0.0/8 59.0.0.0/8 60.0.0.0/8 61.0.0.0/8 112.0.0.0/8 113.0.0.0/8 114.0.0.0/8 115.0.0.0/8 116.0.0.0/8 117.0.0.0/8 118.0.0.0/8 119.0.0.0/8 120.0.0.0/8 121.0.0.0/8 122.0.0.0/8 123.0.0.0/8 124.0.0.0/8 125.0.0.0/8 126.0.0.0/8 202.0.0.0/8 203.0.0.0/8 210.0.0.0/8 211.0.0.0/8 218.0.0.0/8 219.0.0.0/8 220.0.0.0/8 221.0.0.0/8 222.0.0.0/8 do $fw -A INPUT -s $asia -j DROP done

I never found anything better than "reception was acceptable in Chicago." It's a god damned phone. Tell me how good it works as a phone.
You are the reviewer that reviews the sort of phones that you'd buy, whilest using it under the conditions that you'd use phones under.

But hydrogen bombs sound so nice - like they'd float upwards...

To be fair though, you had to be close to Ugg to drop the heavy rock on his head.
Yeah, that's what I was banking on - that most ranges would be "LEGACY". Hmm. This looks quite promising. http://www.ipdeny.com/ipblocks/data/countries/au.zone
Could you have a look in there, and see if netblocks you know are in there?
Firefox + Gmail + http://getfiregpg.org/ = An excellent, private email service.
Hot Russian space-babe?

I don't want an article on how the Flying Spaghetti Monster created the universe just because no one can prove it's not true.
You realise that there are quite a lot of other deities/religions that "can't be proved"?
I'd be more worried about that "sincerety" in your sig, if I were you :)
I don't get why you are getting annoyed that I (and probably many others) do things like this?
Well, there's a pair of boobies poking out at you on the mine.ru page.
Sheesh. I imagine that even if you'd given him one, the same would have happened.
What parts of London are safe these days anyway?
