  2. Couple of questions on Firefox 2 Alpha 2 Reviewed · · Score: 3, Interesting

Slightly off topic, but probably the best place to ask:
Is anyone having a problem with recent versions where the URI autocomplete sometimes doesn't work, even if it's an address you often go to (e.g. google.com).
Or when you click on a tab, it doesn't "release" fast enough, and start moving the tab around?

    Still the best browser though.

I always liked SuSE and found it is easy to use yet good and solid and easy to get into when you want to do something yourself. I just got Mandriva 2006 though so I will not rush out and buy it. With all these releases it is a bit like Windows, lots of hype but not really that much changes. So basically, you've got fuck all to say, but are saying it anyway.

Why would they store it as ASCII?

Let's say numbers can go from 0000000000000 to 9999999999999 (to allow non-US calls - you remembered that there is a world outside your borders, didn't you?). You don't need to waste 12 or 14 bytes to store that. It'll probably go in 6 bytes (I can't be bothered to work it out).
Time- and datestamps can be squashed into integers. Again, I can't be bothered to work it out, but I bet you can get a whole timestamp in 0000-FFFF. (Possibly with a couple more).
