I realy see this as the death of TV. More and more people are geting tired of watching tv(their was a study) to begin with. I see tv slowly disapering. the internet and vido games will take over. WEll then you will buy a tv to play your HDTV video games. Oh damit thiers that idea shot to hell.
Ok I know I am sick but I wont to play EverQuest now So I can kill other people and cause an emotional brake down. Of course it will most likly back fired and I will have the emotional break down but he seams kida funny.

OK not to be picky but how did intel win. Thay companerd a 1730mhz to a 2.4mhz. By intel's standers anyway. Now logic dictates that the AMD won. if a cpu 670mhz faster can't kill the the compitition thier is a problem. Ok 300mhz faster if you wont to use AMD speed(which is a good idea - 2100+ XP).

I don't use linux because its better then windows or mac. but because of the socal implications that linux presents.
I keep seeing articals telling linux people to move over to OS-X becuase it is what linux is realy about. That is false. Moveing to OS-X would be leaving behind everything linux has done and everything it will do.
To to become RMS(hope thats right) Linux is a mindset, religon, way of life, (Put yous in here) not simplay and OS. If it was just an OS I don't think their would be so many developers and I don't think its popularaty would be so grand.
Why would I move from my Open/Free OS to OS-X and apple.(CPU's not be acounted for, I would like a G4 if I could buy a motherboard for one from ABIT, I wish I could.) Which is everyhting microsoft wants to be(just on a larger scale) and everything linux is not.
Apple contorlls their hardware and software. Have been compleat basterd about source code and specs for the last 15 years. And to top it all off raped BSD(BSD people like being raped, Thats the reason for BSD) To be redundent thay are the most propriatary company on the market today. The exact oposet of Linux.
Apple is not the dominat computer ompany becaue thay shot their self in the foot when thay did away with the clones (Just imagen where apple would be if thay had the power of Microsft and intel)
I donno if anyone remebers the city in florida that did thin clients. Seams to work for them. And the school can keep all the older computers.
Administration should be easy. Everytime the computer reboots it is set back to the site default.
How can I help prevent this bill from passing? I figure I should do something with my self being unemployed and such.
I wounder if this was to be come law, or even close, what are we the oss public going to do. From the looks of it all we do is bitch and sick the EFF on them.
We as IT workers and just general computer users have a great ammount of power.
We are smarter then the general public and I belive as a program I have more protental then the accountent down street.
What if 1,000 5,000, 10,000 people showed up in protest with an well orgnzied agenda(Good I hate WTO protesters).
What if 50% of the IT workers went on strik.
What if all the linux geeks became angre and actuly pushed for political power.
I have been laid off for 7 mouths now, during that time I have gone back to collage, learn two new programing langs... and used up all my saveings. And working at WalMart but I actuly am haveing a lot more fun now then I ever did before. Of cours when I start to rember that I could of made what I get now for a month in a weeek I get a little down but oh well.
I gather from the artical that this is to replace bar codes. So why would it still be activated when you leav the stor? And what prevents people from trashing them when thay get home.
I real don't see what all this privacy stuff is about. Companys are trying to make products that will be cool, fun, what have to talk to the chasier any more.
These will actul be hard to hack. From the looks of it. The numbers are hard coded into the tags like bar codes. so you can not reprogram them easly. I guess you could jam the signal althou I think that will take a good deal of work and have to explane to the chase why you eminating RF's signales everytime you go through the the check out.

I am glad a distro has finly put a small install option. Now I can use it on my 486. Oh wait stupid i586 rpms. Now if only thay had Athlon rpm's

I don't understand this. Why is no one currently sueing for the specs to MS only formats. At least Makeing it part of the Deal.
The specs for doc files and the likes are the only thing I can see of intrest. That and maybe the API for windows and Direct X. I belive that would help out more people(Kword) then brakeing MS up or giveing a billon to schools(20 Million is MS land)
