  4. The shape of the road on Bicycle Riding on Square Wheels · · Score: 1
So far, no one has found a road-and wheel combination in which the road has the same shape as the wheel. That's an intriguing challenge for mathematicians.
I wonder if this has got something to do with the road being as long as the traveling distance. On the other hand, you can make a road that is a large circle - viewed from above.
  5. Not the first one on Bicycle Riding on Square Wheels · · Score: 1

I remember riding a car with rectangular wheels on an identical "bumpy" road some ten years ago. It was in Heureka, a Finnish science exhibition centre, on a school trip.

  7. Blender on Which 3D Modeling Software is Best for Learning Use? · · Score: 1

I like Blender. It is nice.

It lacks a lot of functionality other programs have, it has a somewhat messy interface, it's hard to learn, but it's still nice.

  8. UO needs virtual security cameras! on Japanese Man Arrested For Virtual Theft · · Score: 1

The woman apparently should have installed virtual security cameras to his house.

Then, one probably asks, why would anyone install security cameras to a virtual house?
After that, someone asks, why bother stealing someones virtual house, even if it was valuable?
And, finally, someone asks, why play such a game...

  9. The Man Without a Past on Oscar Nominations (LotR, Spirited Away, and more) · · Score: 1

...in the foreign movie section, is certainly worth watching. I laughed most of the time, just for the comedy that the silent moments create.

The movie is quite historical, as it is the first Finnish movie ever to be a Oscar nominee.
At least it's not hard to translate.

  12. Misleading headlines on AMD Announces A Shift In Focus From PC Processors · · Score: 1

Come on, it's not the end of world. AMD isn't going to quit manufacturing PC processors or anything, it's just a matter of moving the focus from competing with Intel (which takes a lot of money, time and effort and gives nothing) to more profitable things.

You all shall still have your daily Athlon upgrades..

Doom and quake both look like crap and run like crap on Pocket PC (ok, doom runs some 10-15 fps, but it still isn't real 3d). Don't buy everything that's been told to you. And x-forge runs fast, at least it did when i tried their first technology demo.
