  1. I've got some better pictures on Quirky Open Source Convention Photos · · Score: -1, Offtopic

Quite boring I'd say. Those people don't seem to know how to party. Check out these pics from a finnish scene party. :)

  2. I'll drink to that! on Beer Stein Goes Hi Tech · · Score: 1

    WOHOO!! I'll drink to that!!

  3. Human voice is the most finest instrument on Pitch Perfect Karaoke · · Score: 1, Insightful

If you compare human voice to any music instrument out there, you probably agree with me when I say that human voice beats them all. Just think about your favourite singer. Although this karaoke thing is "cool", I don't believe technology itself can ever produce such emotionally rich voice that the best singers have. It's not just about singing technically properly - it's about emotions also.

  4. Gentoo's got some great tutorials also on Gentoo 1.0 Released · · Score: 4, Informative

I've been using Gentoo for the last 6 months or so and I've been very impressed. The speed is simply amazing - no other distro is this fast and clean. Gentoo is also very well documented! Daniel Robbins, the main man behind Gentoo has written some excellent tutorials which can be found here. I suggest you go and have a look. I have learned a lot by reading his tutorials. BTW, do you know where that name "Gentoo" comes from? Gentoo is a species of a small and fast penguins ;)

  5. Linux on desktop on Does Open Source Software Really Work? · · Score: 1

There is one thing I've always wanted to know! What exactly is preventing Linux from becoming an excellent desktop OS? What is the reason why that can not happen? Did anyone say "this is not going to make it" when M$ released Windows 3.1? That exactly is my point - Linux desktop development has not stopped here. Recent versions of KDE and Gnome are a solid proof of that. We should also not forget the Enlightenment project. Greatly improved Enlightenment E17 will be released in near future. I bet some people will not believe their eyes when they get to see it.

  6. Yeah, a great game, but when will we see a game... on Nethack 3.4.0 · · Score: 1

with true human emotions envolved? Just think about these lyrics (taken from a song called "Sugared" by a Finnish band called The Crash: "Jeans, I love you, you keep me warm. Love you give me content and form. Oh, you feed me and keep me strong, strong. And I'll be allright, and I don't mind being sugared. 'Cos oh, without my love, I'd be incomplete. And without my love I'd be all empty. So, without my love, I would not be me." . I would very much like to see a game which would touch me emotionaly.

  7. Promises, promises... on Next Windows to Have New Filesystem · · Score: 1

Windows will also be less likely to break? Isn't that the same crap we have heard over and over again with every new Windows release? That's another promise they can not keep. Windows XP was supposed to be (according to Micro$~1) extremely secure, yet it had some major flaws in it. You shouldn't talk about security if you don't know what you're talking about. As we have heard, the whole computer running Windows XP could be taken under control over the network with a few simple tasks. Where is the security in that? Where? Somebody please show me! Talk is cheap, let's see some facts. It's amazing how soon people will forget the broken promises made by companies whose priority number one is to make money forgetting quality.

  8. Trust no company on Netscape 6 is Spyware? · · Score: 1

This really, really makes you wonder if there's any company (business) out there who you can actually trust no matter what they promise or what they say. I'm starting to feel pessimistic about that. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one...

  12. Gentoo's got it on Sorcerer Review, and News of Impending Doom · · Score: 3, Insightful

Gentoo has got the whole pack together. Excellent support and tutorials from the developers. Not to mention the 100% optimization.

  13. MIAMI VICE is the best!! on The Rise of CSI · · Score: 0

You cannot compare that to Miami Vice! Miami Vice had the best mood in it. Great music, great episodes, good acting. It's the most classic police TV-serie.

  18. Re:Club Nokia is not spam on Protect Your Cell Phone From Spam · · Score: 0

What I'm talking about here is Nokia Cardphone 2.0 which software was really lame piece of shit and did not operate properly on Windows 2000. For example you could not change the modem init string - factory default settings were loaded on every boot. This is not acceptable on dial-back environment where you NEED to set the modem to answer incoming calls. OK, I contacted Nokia technical support (you'll have to join Club Nokia before you can ask them anything via e-mail) and they told me to download the new revision of that software. This happened last summer. They have since kept on releasing lame, buggy software - Nokia 6310 GPRS+Windows combination is guaranteed to cause your some problems.

  21. I think that's good on Email (and Filters) for all Australian schools · · Score: 0

I believe it's good that the children won't spend their valuable time on porn, but learning instead. Internet is filled with addictive stuff which can easily take your attention away from studying. There are also some sites which really are not suitable for children and can damage their mental health (www.rotten.com for example).

  25. Enlightenment, E17 is coming!! on Linux *Won't* Fail on the Desktop? · · Score: 0

I think Enlightenment is the coolest desktop I've ever used and I've tried 'em all on every possible platform you could imagine. I'm glad that the number of Linux desktop users is increasing, but I sure do hope Enlightenment will be as advanced & configurable as it has been. KDE is good for newbies and should be developed towards newbies, but let us geeks enjoy the Enlightenment.
