Yeah, it's a joke. Looks like Slashdot is starting to lose it's touch. Is it me, or do you also notice that some of the more intelligent people have left Slashdot? Where have they gone? I think I will follow..
==================== Left the house this morning
Bells ringing filled the air
Wearin' the cross of my calling
On wheels of fire I come rollin' down here
Can't see nothin' in front of me
Can't see nothin' coming up behind
I make my way through this darkness
I can't feel nothing but this chain that binds me
Lost track of how far I've gone
How far I've gone, how high I've climbed
On my back's a sixty pound stone
On my shoulder a half mile of line
There's spirits above and behind me
Faces gone black, eyes burnin' bright
May their precious blood bind me
Lord, as I stand before your fiery light
I'm afraid it will not. It just converts *.mp3 to *.ogg in the current directory and the quality drops a little. Besides it requires "sox" and "oggenc" utilities. Anyway, it's a very good example for someone who wants to learn shell scripting if nothing else;)
It is you or your earphones. Why don't you people *invest* in good earphones? For example, for $50 you can get a very high quality KOSS earphones and your music listening experience will be unbelievable enjoyable! You don't have to buy HIFI equipment which costs several hundreds of dollars - buy decent earphones!
Yeah, that was important *NEWS*. Instead of posting news about *IMPORTANT* things, Slashdot editors choose to publish nonsense, non IT related shit! What a fucking lame website this has become! No wonder why hackers are leaving this sinking ship. Adios motherfuckers (Slashdot editors)!
Did I mention Skully Records, New York City, USA? You know, I happen to live in Turku , Finland and English is not my native language. Our bands (there are many) have released many CDs over the years. What is your native language? Why don't you try to write a song in Swedish language and release it in Stockholm, Sweden?..Haha! Well, whatever, your poor comments can't get me down. I do have a life even though I am a UNIX sysadmin. In fact, this very moment, I'm getting drunk and soon I'll go to downtown to meet some chicks and I'll always love my sunny funny girl.
Oh, I've got life, allright! I've been singing in a band since 1994 and Skullyrecords in New York, USA is about to release my song on their "black jacket racket vol. #3" which is to be released in this autumn...but thanks anyway;)
..and I'm damn proud of it! I'm 29 years old and this was my dream when I was just 11 years old and my uncle who was working in Nokia told me that they were running Unix on their computers.
No, no, no, no, no pal.. I just rather hack my own, even if it doesn't look cool. Why buy something ready made? Where is the point in that? Where is the FUN in that? Besides if this becomes a trend and we are seeing more of these devices, you can bet your ass arcade copyright owners will start sueing people. Someone is actually making money out of their ancient ROMs - no company can tolerate that.
So serious? FUN! FUN! THAT'S WHAT LIFE IS ALL ABOUT! We try to have fun, meet great people, enjoy their company and actually LIVE this life 100%! Why don't you too try to enjoy yourself once in a while! Be serious then when you need to be serious (when you are about to die).
Since day one. I got into drinking habit when I had my 16 birthday - now I drink and have a party every weekend just like everybody (="normal" people) else. It is possible to write killer code while being under the influence of alcohol, I've seen it done many many times. In fact, all of the greatest Amiga demos were coded by drunken coders at copyparties.
I'll drink to that! Please be sure to take digital camera with you so that we, who can not participate can enjoy it too. It's fun to look at pictures of a lot of drunken penguins:)
WINDOWS IS DYING! We, Linux and *BSD users should stop this war and unite against commercial competitors such as microshit^H^H^H^Hsoft who spread FUD about our fine OSs. I've got 2 PC boxes and I use both FreeBSD (4.5) and Linux (Gentoo) and I love them both. Absolutely excellent OSs, both of them!
I agree with you! CLI is the best thing! You can even watch movies on CLI by using MPlayer. There are 2 things, however, that are missing in CLI apps: 1) LYNX and Links are absolutely GREAT, but they should have the ability to display images and they should respond to mouseclicks. If I click on a link using my console mouse, Lynx and Links do nothing. 2) ASCII-text acrobat (*.pdf) reader! If we could get these, your CLI experience would be perfect.
New debian is out, well, that's cool and all, but I got to admit, it is waaaaay cooler to listen to DOM ANDRA song by the best band in the whole world - Kent from Sweden! I am a finn, and I do not understand all of the lyrics of Dom Andra (although swedish is our second official language in finland), but I got to admit, this is THE BEST SONG I have ever heard! Thank you Sweden, I love you!
OK, this is objective opinion. Why don't you all just check out the best looking desktop there is! I've also got Mac, but I got to admit, this beats it all the way.
Yeah, I agree with you. Even my sincere comment (which included a link to Finnish scene party pics) was modded down to -1. It was offtopic. Yeah right.

Try this demo with UAE or Fellow emulators! Some really great tunes from the legendary DEATHSTAR group.
Linux is such a success that it's like the guy who got laid with the prom queen on a prom night!

I waited patiently for the Lord
He inclined and heard my cry
He brought me up out of the pit
Out of the miry clay
I will sing, sing a new song
He set my feet upon a rock
And made my footsteps firm
Many will see
Many will see and fear
I will sing, sing a new song
This is obviously a big stress to eyes! If you need to move your eyes rapidly for a long period of time, you will break yourself!

Hehe! :) I gotta go. You were a funny guy, but you know, this has got to end now. Haha!

Nice! You should start selling it in Finland or Ireland. :)

Combination of U2 and Beer beats Linux and other computer related stuff hands down!
