Very good point that Mandrake often is unlucky with release dates. But this is a maintenance release/bugfix, not really a major upgrade, so I don't really see how your point goes up here? These minor KDE releases happen quite frequently...

Uninstalling from source isn't as hard as you make it sound. If you keep the source around it should be as simple as:

    cd source/directory
    su
    make uninstall

At least it was last time I checked. I use Gentoo and haven't done that in a long time though...

Does anyone know a good way to install a binary version of KDE in Gentoo (x86)? I love Gentoo, Portage, and the community, but the three day compile to update KDE is starting to kill me.

Any chance at a kde-bin ebuild in the portage tree?

You could always use the underscore for that - it's used in more than a few language standards:

Arguably it's more readable too, and just as enforcing. I really don't have any problems with case-sensitivity though.

In holland most of the really cheap providers have a maximum usage of 150 to 500 MB / month. Unless we find a way to measure those kind of gotcha's, comparison seems impossible. And avarage wage in the area would be a factor to include too.

    ...and the end of Apple...

Please do not forget that Microsoft is already a shareholder in Apple, they will probably let Apple alive - and will probably even support Apple. Just to make anti-trust cases easier, and as long as they are no threath. And as MS has previously done to Apple with Internet Explorer, I'm quite confident Microsoft will force Apple to take the Palladium path too...

I tried the binary and was quite surprised just how easy it was to get into. You can slow down by moving your mouse to the right and speed up by moving it to the left. And that works rather intuïtively, I like it. I'd really love to see this in game consoles where text-input can be a real pain even today.
