    Does it mean I might be able to get better resolution on my radeon 9600 than 1024x768 on Ubuntu?

    Installing any other drivers causes the system to hard lock upon the log in screen.

    I agree, Windows XP search sucks something awful and not just the interface.

    I actually wrote my own search program because I hated XP search so much. And I ain't much of a programmer.
    Of course I did have to add regex.

    Interesting..I have seen it before, about Little League.
    As someone who excelled in Little League,
    looking back it sucked for all but a few.

    If you didn't pitch(I did) you stood around waiting for the ball to be hit to you(once or twice a game) and then got to bat 2 or 3 times.
    And this took 1-2 hours!

    Better to go to the local park and play pick-up baseball for a couple of hours.
    You will get a lot better at baseball plus gain some social skills.

    Survive is a great game. Board gamers actually say it was a little before it's time.

    You can find it on Ebay, though not always cheap, and if you are lucky at a garage sale.

    Gosh then I guess my company and Microsoft and the only ones. I never knew.

    It is amazing that cisco, nortel, microsoft, hp, lucent, and countless others are willing to sign these "license agreements" that seem to be ever so rare.

    First, you rarely if ever buy software. You license software.

    Second, MS is screwing up. I probably like MS more than 90% of the people here.
    Piracy is helping MS not hurting it. If they stomp out piracy they
    are going to stomp out some of their user base.
    Losing that user base will hurt them badly in the future.

    ummm... I don't think this would effect the price of the roof, framing, carpet, kitchen cabinets, etc..

    It is a 30% increase on one part of the house.

    Cost costs $100,000(Sorry I live in TN). Concrete/Paint cost $10,000 dollars normally,
    With new concrete/paint it jumps 30% to $13,000.

    New house now costs $103,000 to build, not $130,000.

    You know there is some irony here.
    Everyone is lambasting MS for not understanding the GPL.(I am pretty darn sure that they understand it just fine.)
    Yet they don't seem to understand the point Dvorak is making.

    I am not for removing the saved game feature, but I believe games are harder because of it.

    On another note, I recently went back and played x-com refusing to use the save feature(at the 2nd easiest level mind you).

    Much more suspense and drama and personally alot more fun.

    You can trade resources in Settlers of Catan. There is wood, sheep, ore, clay, and wheat.

    There is always someone who has said "I'll give anything for some wood." or "Sheep for wood" etc

    I am not movie buff but if I really liked a movie then a would prefer getting the nice packaging to go along with the DVD.

    I guess after I have watched a movie once, I am not dying to watch it again for awhile.

    Not that I have any sympathy for the movie companies...

    especially given the early demise of the original Xbox

    What does this mean?

    I haven't owned a console since forever and rarely play them. But all my friends that play consoles they only play the xbox.

    Did the XBox get its butt kicked and I am just seeing an anomaly?

    if you can't predict the weather for tomorrow with 100% certainty you can't begin to predict global weather 30 years into the future.

    If I play Kasparov in chess, I am pretty sure you couldn't predit every move but you could predict who would win.

    I am not going to argue your point, there may be truth in it, but the last statement seems ... weak.

    Like the others have said turn off the java stuff if you don't need it.

    My question for OpenOffice guys, why have this turned on by default?

    Those who would need it can turn it on but I always thought OpenOffice was a dog because of this.

    Maybe a pop-up window or something...
