Sony's PSP plays MP3 files right off the memory stick. Just plug the PSP into a USB2 port, copy your MP3 files to it, then listen and enjoy. Of course, I've only got a 1G memory stick, which holds enough MP3 files for my listening pleasure.
I dual boot SUSE 9.1 and Windows XP Pro on my 40G laptop drive. My first partition is of course NTFS. The others are EXT3. Everything is working great. I'm very impressed with SUSE Linux. This is my first time out with SUSE. Been a long time RedHat user.
I modded our XBOX (chip and larger hard drive) so we can store/run our games from the internal hard drive. It's just too big a risk ($50) letting my kids handle all those shiny disks.
And the added benifit of playing all our music, and displaying select photo albums... no brainer. The XBOX should have been shipped this way.
They have a very small number of songs... less than 5000 out of the hundreds of thousands of songs that were uploaded to MP3.COM. They were very picky about the songs they selected, and the artist had to have already 'agreed' to it. They 'cleaned-up' the songs... by removing lead/trailing silience and leveled the audio so that all the songs play back at the same volume.
The media player is a custom embedded box running uClinux. Most of them connect via a modem, some take advantage of the built-in 10baseT ethernet connection.
Yes, I would buy one. It would make a great swap partition!

A little off topic, but hey, who listens to music anyways?
I'll look for your fancy-pants gui at the show (Linux Desktop Summit).
Got mine at Target... they opened at 8:00am.

I went to Xandros once, then clicked my heels and ended up back Gnome!
I saw these guys at the Linux Desktop Summit...
GarageGames
They have some fun games, and a great startup kit to make your own.
Bill has Jedi Master powers... These are not the customers you are looking for (Jedi mind trick and hand wave). Those weak minded fools at RedHat!

Is there room for one more in the trunk?

We had similar experences with Delon ;-) ...and sent him packing too.
