I still remember how freaked I was when my PDA broke. I spent the whole day finding ways to salvage data.

Next day, I ordered my Zaurus :) Zaurus rocks.

I have gotten rid of paper in my personl life due to my PDAs use. Paper is too cumbersome, ineffective, cluttery and environmently determental.

I cannot imagine a day without my PDA.

  9. Every project has its own way... on Submitting Bug Reports To Open Source Projects? · · Score: 1

I would say mozilla is the poster child of bug submission and feedback. I believe the number of bugs you find in a project's bug list is in direct relevance to the way that the project members respond to bugs. bugzilla at mozilla is very responsve. Enter a bug and within hours you will get a feedback. On the other had there are projects where the team is not as responsive. Peng being an example. I posted queris to the forums, posted it to the deleopers, did not get any useful response, which makes me very less likely to sumbit a Peng bug again. Rather use google (geek's best friend) to find a solution. I guess Redhat's team does not respond to users or they have not advertised it well enough. I came to know about it from this article. There is also an aura of hostility that is widespread among OSS developers. Or this is the way users think they are. I have a few friends who had a hard time getting help for other stuff that they needed. Another aspect is that the users of OSS are themselves geeks and techies, so they figure out the problems and do not bother entering bugs for simple things. Sometimes they make a web page out of it somewhere....
