    I knew a guy who started going deaf from sitting next to the mainframe fans, back when I was in the Air Force. They sent us all in for hearing tests.

    The Tivo has been out for HOW long? If you've followed it at all, you've seen all the cool hacker upgrades you can do with it. So until now, a Tivo has been nothing but good.

    And you still didn't buy one. You might have it on your fantasty list of things you want to buy, but the odds of you ACTUALLY buying one are nil.

    Take your sour grapes elsewhere.

    I've noticed that almost everything that was made around WWII, can be made in a privately owned machine shop today.

    Seeing that the first nuke was made around WWII, it looks like all you need is the access to the materials. I'd also suggest some heavy radiation gear.

    Controlled good response:
    All key cards can be disabled within minutes if you're near a telephone. If he left your cell phone behind, seconds. Just like a credit card.

    Police/government forces can ALREADY destroy their opponents pretty easily. Guess it's not as easy as you're making it out to be.

    If you read the article, you'd notice that they aren't planning on raising the prices at all.

    They're dropping the items that they don't profit from.

    They're going to have the items shipped from the distributers to you, reducing overhead and proccessing time.

    Low profit books will no longer be held in inventory, they'll be ordered individually as needed.

    You're right, this should be very interesting to watch.

    I'm not too surprised that they found a new way to increase data density. IBM has a great research department and they sell a lot of hard drives. I am curious to see if my computer can handle a 300 gig hard drive. And it will be cool to see their microdrive benifit from this also.

    All I really want to know is WHEN? When do they expect these new drives to hit the market? How much testing do they have to do until they tool up for mass production?

    Chiana wraps his body in a blanket, Sets him on fire, I think:
    "Um, fire retardant blanket? He's a tough guy, he'll make it."

    They throw his body off a bridge, final shot shows his flaming corpse falling hundreds of feet, banging into the side walls, I think:
    "Geezus Christ, I get the picture already, the guy is wormfood."

    At the bottom of the page it says that Rambus stock is worth about 13.11$. What does 'trading halt' mean again?

    Huh, that's odd, when I went back to check the article, it's no longer listing Rambus's stock price at the bottom.

    I mentioned that to a guy who's building a working replica of the "Spirit of St. Louis"
    He looked at me funny and told me that the plane was steel and fabric. He even rattled off the type of steel it was, mentioned that it's not used anymore for aircraft.

    I'm surprised no one here has thought of ice buildup on the wings of this model aircraft. Maybe they put in some kind of heat pipe on the leading edge.
