You are seriously concerned that you might have an emergency, and need to drive more than 600 miles, and having to stop and re-charge for an hour would just make the emergency worse? Has this ever happened to you?
It's like you're coming up with bizarre scenarios just to justify your current preferences, or perhaps it's a sour grapes issue that you can't afford an expensive car.
Similarly, you could conceivably have an emergency situation where you need to drive a mariachi band to a wedding, but that doesn't mean every single car should have the ability to sit art least eight. Or you could conceivably need to get to the plastic surgeon right away for an emergency rhinoplasty, but that doesn't mean every car should be able to reach 150 mph.
I don't understand. Women carry purses. It's easier for a woman to have a large phone than a man for that reason. The phone goes in the purse! My wife and like every woman I know does this. I could never have as big a phone as she does, just because putting a large phone in a purse is way easier.
Woman's clothes oftentimes doesn't have any pockets at all - making the phone smaller to accommodate non-existent pockets doesn't make any sense.
Go on to truecar.com, look up car prices! You can print out a sheet, take it to the dealer, and get it for that price. Keep in mind that you should take the car price and subtract $7500 for the Federal subsidy (which is given at time of purchase.) Additionally, different states have different subsidy levels - California will subsidize it $2500, it takes na few weeks though).
So after $10,000, truecar.com currently lists:
A Nissan Leaf for $15,000 (that is a seriously fucking good deal) A Fiat 500e $19,000 An e-Golf for $21,000 (A little over, but it's Motor-trends car of the year.)
They're all 4 seat and will get about 150km.
I have an e-golf, I drive more than an hour a day, and I just charge is on a 120v overnight.
The median price of a car in the US is $32K. Electric cars are cheaper to fill up and maintain, and so if there's rational economics going on, the median price could effectively go up quite a bit and still cost the same.
There already are $20K 4 seat electric cars (after subsidies) that go 150km, and charge up overnight on a 120V connection, and they're a niche item. 300km would be a definite improvement, but I'm not sure it would change the world overnight.
WTF? It easily fits in your purse, and that would be a pretty fucking small clutch that couldn't fit a phone.
They still sell the old iPhones, or lower-end 4" android phones, and you don't really need the latest high-end processor if you're only doing things like checking mail, taking a picture, etc.
He had a 50% tax rate, because people were able to deduct more from their taxes. In the 50s, the top tax rate was nominally 90%, but nobody actually paid 90%. It dropped before Reagan, under Reagan, and after Reagan. Reagan was part of a larger trend to tax more of a person's income, but at a lower rate.
As far as social issues, unions, etc. went, no of course Reagan was not more liberal than Obama, just the idea is ludicrous. At the least it demands some kind of explanation.
Right. My cell phone is mostly for porn. So are the bluetooth speakers I pair it to. My awesome electric car mostly drives me to the adult video store and back. My roomba has an inflatable doll on top, my XBox is hacked to play "Custer's Revenge," my solar panels just power a rotating bed, and my Kindle is for reading Wesley Crusher: Teenage Fuck Machine.
How are they not? They lose a fuckwad of money. Shareholders only own a small part of VW, it's mostly owned by Saxony and the Porsche holding company (who I imagine do pick the managers, and are indirectly held responsible because they lose an even larger fuckwad of money).
Well it's not like gallons burned and miles traveled are unrelated concepts. A TDI Passat gets 25% better mileage than a 4 cylinder Passat. It evidently also pollutes more, although I'm not sure if it pollutes 25% more.
The #1 recommended car of every car magazine? I think every single person who would consider buying a Porsche would be aware of Tesla. Every single person who would consider buying an all-electric car, as well.
It's not intended to completely replace cars for every resident of Copenhagen (with a population far greater than 400). It's surely intended as an occasional thing for people who don't have a car, or took public transportation into the city center.
If you just want to glamp and want to have network access, your question was phrased poorly. Maybe you should have just asked about network access for glamping, or googled it?
If you're hiking with a tent, power is an issue. You probably want a generator to power a laptop and phone with data hotspot/mifi. Lots of camping areas have 4G data.
What you want to do is so basic I don't understand why there needs to be an Ask Slashdot about it.
My wife and I have unlimited phone/4G Data/texting, plus 5gb hotspot data apiece, for a total of $100/month through T-Mobile. If US was really that bad, why the need to make shit up?
True, higher interest rates means your checking account gives back a higher percentage, but the barrier to owning stocks and bonds is so low nowadays, who cares?
EA has 8,400 employees. Activision has 6,700. Blizzard has 5,000. Maybe the companies you worked for were small time?
Rovio also sold Angry Birds T-Shirts, cartoons, etc. I imagine at a huge mark-up. Good for them, they managed to strike lightning with a silly mobile game, and took advantage of it thoroughly. Now these employees are no longer needed. It's not realistic to say they could have taken those profits and make a billion dollars with them. They aren't an amazing game studio, they just got lucky and managed to have one silly breakout hit.

For people who want to drive more than 625 miles in a day? That is ridiculous.
You go home, you charge it overnight. It's like starting every day with a full tank of gas.

I'm paying $50 a month for my unlimited. Plans have gotten cheaper.
But it's clearly the way the industry is going. It's already a fairly large percentage of new TV sales, and growing.

FWIW, a quick Google shows they have classes in Spanish, French, Chinese, and Sign Language.
It's a great language, you just write it shit.

What? Who hasn't heard of Tesla?
I have an eGolf and I love it, but I seriously fucking doubt Porsche's e car will have much similarity to the VW eGolf.
Safeway.com offers that. They will also deliver.
Minimum of three years if highly provoked, up to lifetime imprisonment if lightly provoked.

The same point is made over and over...and no, not really. People don't spend every last dollar they own on a home.
And if they do, and interest rates/mortgage rates go lower...great! They can re-finance their home, and save lots of money!
