  1. Re:True? F*ck your war. on Collateral Damage · · Score: 1

American glorification has killed a lot of good movies, and Americans have killed a great number of innocent people. Dear Redneck, why don't you explain to the rest of the world why the Great United States has to carpet bomb an entire country to hurt one evil man?? While you're at it, please tell me why a perfectly good Red Cross installation (including inhabitants) was demolished for your war effort; I'm sure you can think up a quasi- logical justification for that massacre too.
Have you seen "Pearl Harbour?" It's another typical piece of turd-munching American propaganda that only the weakest of mind would confuse with the actual factual events as they occurred .. members of my family died in the Second World War and even off the Hawaiian coast (defending your sorry country) after that incident, and their accounts differ in many distinct ways from the rendition that came out Hollywood's poop chute.
You probably have the gall to wonder why the rest of the world doesn't give more than a superficial shit about your precious land and its heard-earned terrorist damage. If you were a world citizen, the answer would be obvious.
I think you should put the pig down, pull your pants up and take a sober look around. Your government rarely tells you the truth, and you fall for it every time. George Shrub is a fear-mongering attention whore and September 11 hasn't changed that: you people are dazzled by bigger guns and more missiles, allowing you to overlook that the little man pushing the buttons is slightly mad. Say goodbye to civil liberties, and Hello! to your new police state. "Yes, Black Hawk Down IS based on largely fictional events. There is not more than a small grain of truth in it."
    Goodbye.

Pardon?? Desperately needed applications? I wonder which industry you work in, that you would need vaporware and/or more poorly coded trash. Show me a useful .NET app and I'll guarantee it's been better done in Java. Java? Personally, I despise Java, but it is clear from reading the CLR specs that nothing new is introduced, and Java's quite a bit more mature ..
from a web developer's perspective things would look quite different, no doubt, as the cloud of Microsoft assimilation approaches to darken sight; however, I fail to see why we need another superficially language-neutral virtual machine to run bloated, poorly written apps on. What ever happened to artfully coded, small and efficient programs?
Platform neutrality is not worth the cost in bloat. I hope that Java and .NET kill each other off, and Brutalware (http://hysteria.sk/brutalware) makes a comeback.

One member of my household was pulling in a GB per day in just mp3's ..
Shaw Cable (AKA Rogers Cable in beautiful British Columbia) sent us a friendly little note and several 'urgent' phone messages regarding "Excessive Use," then directed us to a new TOS posted for all to see.
Apparently we are entitled to 8GB download per month AND up to 2 GB upload.

That's a pretty fair distance from our 75+ GB down and 10+ GB upload, eh.

Now they're inspecting us closely, and we can't afford to lose the provider since DSL isn't coming to the area until later this year. Soon enough, though, for us Canucks are a crafty breed ;O)

    Hope that helps.

Having said that, my conscience feels better when I support Mozilla; on the other hand, my resources tend to slog a bit once 'zilla's fully under way - and that does NOT feel so good. However, it would be nice to have an open sourced alternative that could compete in all areas with it.
It will take more than 1.0 to heal the slow launch issue; that can only be solved by trimming the fat, so to speak.
