...go for the best 1Kg PC. I'm very happy with my old W5 from Asus and will change any minute for the new series U, never had any problem on the rock n' roll road.
You need big screens - I mean 12", not 7"- to sort photos, glue them in panoramas, you need some muscle to make it quick.
A firm keyboard is a must to write with gusto.
OK, take some paper and pen, some memory cards, universal AC adaptors, one letterman tool, extra power block - you really will use them in air, bus and train waiting hours.
Make a light AC extension, using 5 meters of 2x 0,5 wire, against the rules.
Wild trips, including horse back and bull wagon, does not harm your notebook, safely tucked, ok? A good paded back pack, light as well, is a must for everyday life.
Do backup in a web space, frequently.
Best
...from...The Stavatti Approach - Golden Rule #18) "Stavatti accepts only the U.S. Dollar (USD), gold or negotiated barter as the approved form of contractual compensation. Foreign currencies are not to be accepted. Barter is not acceptable as more than 66% of a goods equivalent payment, unless the barter involves the acquisition of camels or equivalent offset. Cash and coinage is always the desirable form of monetary compensation. Stavatti does not accept American Express(TM)."
Ok guys, and you've missed the best, go for the merchandise, only over a hundred for a SLEEK warplane.
If you have the 2 minutes to go look for major record companies stock prices, you will understand they need to find paying customers NOW!
( 50% down in 2 days for Vivendi-Universal) They need your gigas in the books...
On the other side, money will be running short to pay for any lawyers SOON.
Why not sue Metallica for not making hits anymore?
...what else? looks they are trying to keep it as an owners option. "It's our music, get lost." They will lose one battle after the other. Piracy not fought, mp3 not used as promotion tool, lawyers instead of artists in the front page, it smells of liquidation. burn, babe, burn
OK, It was not so embarassing and still could do a lot of good for this communit. After all, you two look cool after all these years in front of a CRT, threatening the stablishment under false names...
Best wishes, and "be it forever while it lasts", in the words of Vinicius de Morais.
We have hearts that love to be next to another heart.
Human use for air can be music, wich lives inside our heads. Culture, as in common knowledge.
"Bad" uses of the internet are just noise, meaningless. The industry around it will soon disappear, transmuted to the next money vault.
The internet is changing our life like rock and roll did, not by it's qualities, but by our willingness to embrace it and use it to get together, closer, less clicks away.
Looks you are in a long winter mood. Come get some sun in Brasil, then go back to pushing some brain juice into this wonderfull street corner of yours.
Saude!
My favorite setup now will goes as follow:
One Mesa Boogie Mark4, for guitars or Fender Twin Reverb, used w/new tubes)
Two Countryman Direct Boxes, used, for bass/ direct guitar
One TLA Audio (or equivalent) stereo tube preamp and compressor, used - only real pro gear badly needed. Refit them with new tubes.
One Mackie board, it cames in many sizes, suit yourself, it will work ok.
Some mikes, allways in pairs: SM 57s - for dirty sounds, little AKG or Sony lapels - for clear sounds, maybe a couple of CAD350s, best buy in big sounding mics. Booms to fit.
Do a little search for a new USB external audio converter, they are being released just now and do sound ok, - I'm assuming you want to do music, not practice for recording engineer, right? so you will go for recording tracks in pairs, stereo drums, stereo choir, so this is the way to go, easy and two chanel at a time. Go USB, 96Khz internal samplig rate, import in 44.1 for the HD.
Don't buy ProTools. Get it Free. Download a 8 channel fully working version. The Beatles used to have 4 channels only, you can bounce them. Record in it, Mix in it, Edit in it.
Get a monster Athlon, 1Gb minimum for a ride, a 9200 ATA100 60Gb and the best golden Cds you can find. Have fun. Get an audience: Leave it up 24/7 as your personal music server to the world.
Please try WinMX and add go search more Openap Servers. Forget about clogged Morpheus. Also Audiogalaxy could be of good use. Listening not for keeps is something best done between peers.
saude
Because it's MINE! And nobody cared less. Oh, the guy in the other end of the guitar cord? Forget him, he's signed for life, or at least 25 years, such a mob.
I'm having the ride of the year so far in this thread, The Best of The Copyright Caucus!!!!!!
cheers
We used to go to parks and malls and keep our pockets/wallets to ourselves, unless obliged.
We all used to have a couple of pieces of plastic that could buy your dear everyday life, unless it had bad credit.
Most of us had a pocket communicator that can reach the whole world, worst, the whole world could reach you and ring you a nasty tone.
We survived to it all, isn't it?
Just ten years after, we share our life in a way unthinkable in 2002. What the guys in that thread could think of a simple blend of Surf music, *all* the joyous fender music ever made streaming unrelentlessly, never repeating itself, never ceasing to be reverb seasick endless summer music. And you can try to count music streams with proper names and you can say they are as many as what once was called a "phone conversation", wich was another kind of named stream. I can imagine the pains to get to grips with such modern concepts. A network was just a technical proposition, can you read it? In 2002, they had echoes of Victorian rules in all matters of thinking, manners, copylaws, protocols, it still required iron plants and belt conveyors to get mental Things going.
Can you imagine someone not sharing his life? There were concerns about being reachable, hideable even 'undesirable' flow of content. It was very hard to 'connect' as used to be in the 1800s using speech, or written words in the 1600s, or sex in the 1900s, for that matter. Flogosity, they never ever could think of it, the knack of getting in universal touch. All it took was a generation of games, some abuse of radio commnetworks already in place, the remains of the old internet. That is it, and we were all flocks in the same wintersturm. OK, wavelets and organics changed the limits, almost a decade of Free ProTools created some basic ground for blends to spread, but I reckon, they had no clue, like hippies and punks, did you know?
I'm posting this to find anyone searching some roots to Flogosity in this mood. Best.
