  1. Re:Why hasn't this been seen elsewhere? on Alienware Reveals 4GHz desktop · · Score: 1

Oh, how the definition of "script-kiddie" has evolved... now, people even use it when saying nothing at all about scripts or programs!

I'd get a job there just to get the watch; it's kinda o.k.-looking.

  3. Re:Why get the FCC involved? on FCC To Enforce Do Not Call List, Not FTC · · Score: 1

A good while back, people came and did door-to-door saling. This was before the mass-calling that is done now. The way around this was that people began to put up "no solicitation" and "keep out" signs in their yard, and the marketers simply passed over these houses that they would have normally gone to to try and sell something at. This "Do Not Call" list is the same thing as the signs people used to put on their front door... it says "I'm not interested, so don't approach me," just like they used to. I don't see why it's so hard to understand that people do NOT like to be bothered about the same useless crap night after night. (mods, please delete my post below. It's the same thing. Sorry for double post)

  5. I read about another way in "The Economist" on Dell Offers Curbside Computer Recycling · · Score: 1

I was reading "The Economist" yesterday and they had an article about a new way of recycling these that is being developed, and will be mandated, to recycle and perhaps reuse the parts inside of the monitors and computers. I don't remember exactly how they do it, but they take some kind of chemical and put it onto the motherboards, ram, etc, and it extracts the silver in the solder used to mold it together, as well as extracts many other useful kinds of metals and metalloids. It's really pretty neat. I'd definitely recommend reading the article if this interests anyone. It goes into good detail about how it's done, but at 17, my memory is slowly leaking away to the point I can't remember the exact way it's done.

I was thinking the same thing as I read this. If a politician is to be thought worthy of being listened to, the least he could do is speak civilly and not down about the ones he's complaining about.

Who wants to bet he has KaZaA at home right now while he's at work downloading the new Kenny G album? Hah.
