For myself all the programs I wanted to run under XP 64 crashed like a mofo. MS conspiracy I dunno. But the windows 7 public betas and rc run those programs perfectly it is almost as if MS wanted vista to be a total failure just to get even pirates to purchase windows 7.
OSX 10.5 was initially slower than OSX 10.4 unfortunately. Only after several revisions did it reach parity. I blame apple for either releasing 10.5 too early or focusing too much time on the iphone/ipod touch.
I think you will find those alignments were just because the republicans were in power. Democrats have the power currently so drug companies will make "allies" with the democrats. Unless for the first time in history ya know the honest politician thing actually happened.
It's only a bad thing if the software does not work. I want MS to fail as to do most of us but they seeing as they contract out that anti malware software the anti virus software will probably be at least semi-decent.
I suspect these are just last minute approvals by the Bush DoD. Most likely as soon as Obama takes over this and other last minute Bush projects will be terminated. This kind of stuff is just routine politics.
Does it really matter at this point? All news is bought and paid for by some special interest at this point. Most people just get the news from the special interest group that most closely matches their own these days.
To make matters worse Spore for mac isn't exactly native application. It uses some sort of windows environment. I believe the term for this is "ciderized".
I tried updating twice it downloads the 2.9meg update and then says it can not update. Anyone else have this problem on OSX ? I guess I will keep using beta 5 until release version of FF 3 is out.

If that VGA cable could carry 8 channel audio and ethernet you might have a point. With anyDVD and the like the DRM problem is largely moot.
I can't wait. One less cable connection to worry about. Increases wife/girlfriend acceptance factor for HTPC and other nerd devices.
