Well I dont understand why they still use Xfree when xorg is so much better and their isnt a license issue. oh well, i should give this distro a try to see if they sped up things over gentoo, Highly doubt it.
But you need to be ultra competitive feature wise for a Linux enabled pda to take off. I am a linux nut and I see no need for a PDA that runs linux on it. hell maybe if it had a ethernet jack on it and a full size keyboard, oh wait thats a laptop...
I would still choose the celeron D over the AMD offerings because of all the issues Iv seen with via / sis / nforce1/2 with linux and windows. THeir drivers are really not stable and I have seen really slow hdparm scores with them. I bet if you benched these cpus in linux the celeron would be the most stable because it uses its intel chipset. I think AMD cpus are AWESOME, but the motherboards chipsets people use are junk IMHO.
The Apple Airport Express is what I use to stream my music library to my stereo system, its an amazing device which works great with linux considering it uses open standards. Do a good search for Airport express and linux and you will find the howto. I almost cant live with out it.
also its a bridge for my exsisting wireless so I get 10x better connectivity in my living room then I did before with my wireless laptop, and it has an extra usb port on it for a wireless printer(which isnt supported in linux)
also its a wireless router in its self!
yeah but as much as every one loves AMD, iv had nothing but problems with using a AMD chip and a NON amd chipset motherboard, it drives me crazy. At least Intel Makes the Cpus and the Motherboard chipsets that run them, making them extremely stable. (unlike AMD)
there is ways to update everything except the kernel with out a reboot, and if you have a soild kernel some people upgrade that ever year or so. But there are ways to upgrade the kernel without a reboot also.
I would like to see you back that claim up, Its no more a toy then Netbsd in my humble opinion. Gentoo has the best damn package manager Iv seen in a linux distro so far, why else do you think its the most popular non newbie linux distro?

we would have to wait for Linux Opengl 2.0 drivers then from companies like Nvidia and ATI, dont hold your breath.
But you dont understand how bad the performance of that chipset is. it's no where near the performance level of a SBlive or a audigy.
when I build a PC for someone I almost feel bad giving them a intergrated sound card, even if its 6.1 and fancy looking.
yes your correct, steve jobs is not god, but he sure knows what he is doing. Apple has made some AMAZING products, products that sell and that people drool over because of the design, simplicity, eligance, and much more. What other companies do what Apple does? They make their own OS, Hardware, they Support it, they are in almost every major computing field. Hell gateway, dell, Hp, none of them have their own OS, and none of them are as creative as apple.
is it possible to get widescreen resoluitons with current nvidia cards or ati cards? I work for compusa and I keep running into the problem where a manager wants to display a computer on a plasma but the resolution is streched. Any Ideas?
its a Non US thing, hence the BBC, and "planned development in the UK"

I work for apple, they use the same screen.
well we could just run a stage3 install of starter.so but you wont be able to drive as fast. Sorry

but they we felt they were a threat so we went in and cleaned up the place, best move ever.
Well Sco cant sue over this elf, well I wish they would, that would be fun:)
why is this troll?
Wow I thought it said RadioShack was no more! I thought apple took them over or something, I hate products that have common names with big companies.

doesnt work, when you insert a agp card, onboard agp video cards are disabled.
umm but he is correct.. These drivers let your video card work in X, why set it up for the nv driver when you can do it from the command line?
and seriously though linux is mainstream

if you typed that as a user, nothing would happen until it got to your ~/ directory
web content? Tivos will then be able to recognize web content and direct it to the appropriate home device. what does that mean?
